Where to find a princess dress for daughter???

We are going in June and are surprising our DD with character meals but, she saw pictures (which are wonderful) from the board and wants to get a princess dress (sleeping beauty) to wear. Our Disney store has closed close to our house and I am not sure where to get one. I really do not want to pay an arm and a leg for it but I want this trip to be magical.

If I would get online and find one I am afraid that I would not find the right size.

Help please!!!!

I have purchased 3 dresses-Aurora from Goodwill(brand new,a target donation-$8 for $30 dress--gorgeous!)
Princess Jasmine genie type outfit brand new Ebay from UK spent $30 w/shipping
Princess Cinderlla brand new from Disney shopping online Adult size for my 8yr old $50.

Ebay would be your best bet for the cheapest.

you could order from disneyworld mail order. dresses run about 45-55.00 for dress shoes are 12-20 i remember correctly. i have bought outfit and stuff for friends and shipped it direct to them also.

Not sure how fancy you are looking for, or what size your DD is, but have you checked places like Target, Walmart, Toys R Us? They aren't as fancy as the ones sold at wdw, and they are only in small sizes.


Do you know anyone who sews? They sell patterns for the Aurora gown. A friend made DD a beautiful gown.

We bought a Belle dress for our DD while at WDW - they sell them everywhere. However, that probably isn't the most economical way to go. I think we spent over $80.00 on that dress. It was worth every penny though; she had so much fun being a 'princess'!

My MIL picked one up for DD's birthday at the Disney Store. Complete with tiara gloves and wand. She cannot wait to eat supper with Cinderella at 1900 Park Fare!

my daughter loves her dresses from target...i have also found them at toys r us ... and some great clearance prices at the disneyoutlet website..we did buy an ariel dress on ebay...so there are lots of options.
by the way. if there is an ALDI by you, there is a wide variety of princess items...sheets, pillows, towels, hampers etc priced VERY reasonably.

With 7 DGD's I watch for the sales and was really pleased to have bought the Cindy Wedding Dress for $ 54 each for DtwinGDs to wear to Cindy's for breakfast and on our June cruise. The dresses were $95 each last week at WDW. Silver shoes to match were $12 each pair.

It is expensive, but you could make a reservation at the new BBB at DTD. She could pick out a dress, get her hair and makeup done prior to meeting the princesses.

Check at Walmart in the clearance area. Last week our Walmart had some Princess dresses on clearance for $10.00 each. I'm sure they aren't the best quality, but they were cute. I can't remember if they had Sleeping Beauty or not, but they had Cinderella, Snow White, and a light yellow one, but I am not sure who that was.

I vote for mydressuptrunk on ebay. No disney tag in the dress , but the quality is outstanding! We've bought at least 3 dresses from them and I'm amazed at how well they have lasted (1.5-2 years-and dd dresses up in something almost everyday!) They make a package deal where you can get Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, etc. They average about $20 a dress, unless you buy a package.

ETA: They also have a "Little Mermaid" outfit too! Very cute and only $20! I'm pleased b/c my dd is above average on height and weight (she's only 5 but it literally the size of an 8 yr old) and we've never had a problem getting the dresses to fit. hah, try that at Walmart, etc. Most of their dresses are sized for 3 yr olds (or at least "normal sized" kids ).

Do a search on ebay for the costume you want. I just bought 6 princess dresses, and many of them were make an offer. They come in all kinds of quality, but check the seller's feedback first. Good luck! I know she will love whatever dress you buy
