Does anyone know where to find a good BBQ pork (maybe pulled pork?) sandwich on property--in either the parks or resorts? DH liked the ones they used to have in the old food court in the Land pavillion in Epcot. Thanks for any info! :)

I believe your best bets would be Tusker House or Flame Tree BBQ at AK. One of those locations has a good one.

The other option would be at Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge.

Flame Tree BBQ is great, however they are open seasonally, so they might not be open when you go. Pecos Bills has a pretty good one too.

Flame Tree's BBQ pork sandwich is very good.

For the record, ESPN Club's BBQ pork sandwich is terrible, so don't try the one there.

Kona Cafe serves a wonderfully tasty BBQ pulled pork sandwich. :thumbsup2

Thanks, everyone, for some great ideas! DH will probably want to try them all... But he'll have to make a choice... ;)

Another vote for the pulled pork sandwich at WCC! It's only offered at lunchtime though. We tend to go there when we are at the MK for the day - it's just a quick boat ride over, and a great break. :goodvibes

I had a pretty good pulled pork sandwich at ESPN in August. Maybe they've improved?

FlameTree BBQ does have great pulled pork!

This thread is being run by yankees :rotfl2:
As a Southern Girl, I have tired them all... and my vote goes to. "Don't eat BBQ at Disney" Sorry, but our local roadside stands do a much better job.

I am going against the grain here. I am from the South and tend to agree with you on not getting BBQ any better than in the South, especially from the BBQ capital of the South which is NC :thumbsup2 . But I have to say, Flame Tree does a good job of making some pretty good BBQ. WCC BBQ is good on the skillet also. I have never had it in sandwich form, but imagine it being the same as the skillet version. Also, my DD loves the BBQ at ESPN. She thinks it is real close to FTBBQ in taste. I think the sauce has a lot to do with it. Maybe it just tastes good cause Im eating it in WDW

Carol and jimmytammy, have either of you tried the BBQ sandwich at lunch at Kona?

How does it compare to Flame Tree and WCC? We've been to neither.

I haven't tried Kona,

Have tired Flame Tree (Sauce is just plain strange) and ESPN (Actually a little better then Flame Tree) I tired the OPs orignal a the Land (That was BBQ?)

The skillet at WCC is tasty, but it's not great.

I think the BIG problem is that GOOD BBQ is slow cooked over REAL wood coals (preferably overnight) DIsney is into "move it out' LOL! I don't think they spend all night on thier BBQ. Liquid Smoke does not impart the same taste as hickory coals.

You sound like you know your BBQ, anyway. I guess when Disney says pulled pork, they mean pulled from the freezer?!?

I havent tried Kona either but that might need to be on our list. CarolA, Im just ribbing you(pun intended) :rotfl2:
