I know, it sounds like a travesty, but we are kind of "sticker-shocked" at the prices of some of our favorite buffet restaurants ($36?!?:scared1:). We'll be eating plenty at our camper, breakfast and "lupper" on a lot of days. But, we like to splurge a little.

We're pretty adventurous, and like international food and seafood, too. Where do you folks like to eat when in the area? We just want to sit down and talk, and have a nice dinner! Would prefer Orlando, Kissimmee, close to the Fort, etc.

Please fill us in on the best eats on the "outside"! :thumbsup2

We like Sweet Tomatoes at Crossroads. Nothing fancy, but is a change fom the standard Disney fare. It is a buffet, but with salad, soups, muffins, pasta. You can look at their menu at http://www.souplantation.com/
that lists the items they have that change, but the always have a great salad bar with all the fixings you can imagine. And if you sign up for club veg they will send you coupons - me, DH & DD (3) can eat for about $20 with coupons. FYI - you don't need to print the coupon, you just need the code at the bottom.

W eat both on and off site, we sometimes go to Kissemmee and there, every type resturant you want on International drive, and sometimes we take the backway out ( about 1 mile) to 535 and also many fastfood, and also nice sitdown resturants of all types there also..

We go 192 W and you can find many restraunts with good food and lower prices then Disney. Old Town is a fun place to visit also. bike and car shows plus lots of town style stores.

If you really want to splurge and love steak and seafood. You would love Johnnie's Hideaway. Located on State Road 535 and Hotel Plaza Blvd
in The Crossroads Shopping Center at the entrance to Walt Disney World, near Downtown Disney. They have the best steaks and seafood!!! We try to go there everytime we go to Disney!!

Restaurant.com offers a lot of WDW area restaurants. You purchase a $10, $25 or $50 certificate for a fraction of the value. Usually, $10 for the $25 one but there are many coupon codes that bring that price down 70-90%. Use zip code "32830" to search and make sure to google for the latest code.

We usually eat off Disney a few times while we are there. What I do is get some of those tourist maps and guides. I have found them on line before hand thru a google search, or pick up one at the way to the world. (publix) It has tons of places to eat and maps to go along with it. Just down the road from Downtown Disney is Olive Garden, Mac Grill, Crab shack. Prices are just like at home.

Our favorite off-site is Giordano's. They have 2 nearby locations.

Like someone else mentioned, restaurant.com has some great deals. We've gotten a $25 Giordano's certificate before for $2.
