Does anybody have any suggestions about where to eat at the Magic Kingdom? Our kids are 8 and 5 but we don't necessarily have to do a character meal. What are some good places in your opinion?

for a sit-down we enjoy the plaza restaurant. the portions are large enough that the children could share. for counter service, we like pecos bill. another good choice is casey's corner--great hot dogs! happy eating!

I like Crystal Palace for table service. It has a nice buffet, good service, a beautiful atmosphere and you can dine with Pooh and friends.

For counter service, Pecos Bill is the way to go. They have the best chicken wrap served with a side of raw baby carrots and a great fixin's bar for your burgers.

For dessert or mid-day snack, try a dole whip at Aloah Isle in Adventureland. It is pineapple soft serve that you can either get in a cup or in a pineapple juice float. YUM!::yes::

I like Cosmic Ray's for a quick meal..They have good foos and they Alien singing show is cute!

Our favorites are Cinderella's Royal Table, Plaza Restaurant and Liberty Tree Tavern which is a la carte at lunch.

I second Cosmic Rays, the food was good and the "entertainment" is really cute. It is counter service but there is plenty of variety, and a large seating area.

We LOVE the Crystal Palace! We went 2x last week, just for the food! :p

I have to post a second for Casey's Corner -- hot dogs with all the fixin's AND a great ragtime piano player. What more could you ask? :happy2:

Crystal palace if you want sit down.

Pecos Bills or Caseys Corner for counter service.

Also, Pinnochios Haus for the Figaro Fries, Oh, how I love them. Thin crispy fries, with bacon, tomato, lettuce and tomato drizzled with sour cream. They have average burgers with a burger bar and hot dogs as well.

:bounce: Pinocchio's has PBJ sandwiches for the kids that are very good. And their salads are HUGE - large enough to split between 2 adults. Our kids always ask to eat there.:D

I will only comment on the few we have been to.... (DD's 2 & 7, DH vegetarian, Me meat eater)

Columbia Harbor House - Fantastic!! We all loved it. Mac and cheese for the girls. Great veggie chilli and sandwich for DH. Tuna salad sand was great for me. The bread they used was very interesting, not your standard white bread! Eating upstairs was a very quiet break in a crowded day.

Peco's Bills - We didn't really like Peco's. The toppings bar didn't look that great to me so I got the chicken wrap. Form the description I should have loved it. I didn't. Too much dressing made it too sloppy. DH didn't care for the salad without the chicken (we heard it was a good veggie choice.) DD7 had the hot dog and DD2 had a bun. The eating area was very crowded and not very clean. We will go somewhere else next time.

Casey's Corner. OK. We grabbed a couple hot dogs to share before the fireworks. There was nothing realy wrong with the dogs, we are just used to a different style where we live. I'm sure others would like it more.

Crystal Palace (Breakfast) - Wonderful!! It really made the trip! We had an early PS and got to walk down Main St. while it was empty. It was a magical start to our first family trip to WDW!! Food was great. Good selection and quality. The characters were very nice. We want to do the exact same thing again!!

I always liked to get tacos/taco salad at Pirate Y P....Whatever it's called, in Adventureland. Unfortunately, it's closed for rehab while we are there. We're thinking of leaving MK at lunch, taking the boat over to FW and eating at the Trails End buffet, and then heading back to MK on the boat after lunch. We had breakfast there on our last trip and it was by far the best value in WDW. Lunch is 9.99 for adults and 5.99 for kids, all you can eat.

Now that I think of it, we might even go there for breakfast on our MK day, eat early, and then skip lunch and eat dinner later. Breakfast is the same price as lunch: 9.99 for adults and 5.99 for kids.

I love the food at Pecos Bill's and always make it a point to eat there on our trips. The food is very good, the portions are huge, and because we eat an early lunch, the place is usually not too crowded.
