Our first night we will be arriving just a couple hours before dinner. We are staying at the Poly. I have a Crystal Palace reservation, but am thinking I'd rather eat somewhere else. My kids are past the Pooh/Tigger stage.

Should we do Kona or can you give me other suggestions.

We are eating at Boma, 1900 Park Fair, O'hana, CA Grille and The Wave the other nights.

I'm looking for good and convenient for the first night.

For our first MK day we decided that we wouldn't eat dinner in the park, rather we are going to Kona (which I am extremly excited about). Since we can take the monorail over, we decided it was a nice way to take a break from the park, then once we are done we will take the monorail back over. We have been to Kona only for breakfast (had to try the Tonga Toast) and we liked it so much that we wanted to try the dinner. Since you are staying at the Poly, I would definately go to Kona then hop on over to MK via the monorail....what a great way to start off your vacation. :thumbsup2

We enjoyed Liberty Tree when we went two years ago--but we did lunch. We love The Plaza Restaurant. Great salads and sandwiches--and huge portions. Just be sure to save room for the shakes and the sundaes. :goodvibes

I have several strategies:

1. Don't wait for dinner, eat at your resort CS then head out for the evening at MK. If you get hungry while at MK grab some CS and share it.

2. Spend some down time at the pool and eat at Kona before heading to the park.

3. Inside MK eat at the Plaza. Definitely convenient and reviews place it beyond just good.

I was thinking:

Kona at the Poly -- good reviews and really convenient location

Grand Floridian Cafe -- great location, good food

Plaza at the MK -- good food and in the MK

Our first night tradition is ALWAYS Kona then the monorail to MK. Kona is relaxed and that's a plus after traveling. The food is amazing and the desserts are the yummiest! Service has always been great and the atmosphere is so open and airy. We just love it there!:flower3:

Blum74, you're staying at the Poly! OMG, you couldn't have picked a better resort and your other dining plans are GREAT! Just stop back in and tell me how you like the Wave ... haven't had a chance to do that one yet!!!

Crystal Palace does have really good food but your stuck with a character meal so it will be full of kids and kinda noisy ... but still a good restaurant! On the other hand, Kona is relaxed and a little quieter! My family and I have a tradition of stopping there for breakfast on our last day and we love it!

Emme, above me, is correct! Kona is a nice way to kick back and relax a little after the hassle of getting to FLA and the parks.

Let us know what you decide!!!

Have A Magical Day!!!
