where to eat in disney springs (a week before xmas)

We will be waking up at Boardwalk on saturday the 20th and going to Jollywood nights - which i think we can get in around 5:30 ish? I think during the day we are going to go to disney springs and walk around and look at their trees and eat. Maybe just spend a couple hours there - I like looking around but we arent going to do a lot of shopping. I am debating if I should make dining reservations. We could eat some place by boardwalk and then bus over - or eat at disney springs. I feel like there are a lot of good counter services type options there. On my last trip in october I felt like our counter service meals were a better value than our table service meals (could just be where we ate) I am thinking we can grab a pastry or something for breakfast - then eat a late lunch and then everyone can eat whatever they want whenever they want at DHS at jollywood. There is an opening at Homecoming and I am tempted to grab it, but I also like the idea of not being tired to a reservation. It is the Sqaturday before xmas so i am thinking disney springs might be super busy and lines at counter service places might be extra long.
If you think counter service - what is your favorite place in that area?

It never hurts to have the ADR - perhaps at Homecoming, as you stated. Then you have it, and can decide what you want to do day-of. As long as you cancel more than 2 hours before your reservation, you won't be charged for anything.
