We used to eat at Tusker House, but we can't now because it's a buffet. So, I was wondering where should we eat? Im not a big fan of seafish.

-Thank You in Advance-

The new Yak and Yeti is open. We have eaten at Pizzafari and the Flame Tree BBQ and have had really good meals at these. :thumbsup2

Yak and Yeti is open, but it's gotten mixed reviews. My favorite CS is Flame Tree BBQ.

We like Flame Tree for a few different reasons. I think the price is great for the amount/quality of food you get. Everytime we have eaten there it has been consistently delicious. We really like the seating area down by the water...it's like you're in a whole other world. :)

For me, none of the current options rise to the level of the "old" tusker house (and its salmon! yum!).

The Italian sandwich at pizzafari was okay, and if it is a hot day, pizzafari is air-conditioned. The BBQ at Flame Tree is also okay. I was a bit disappointed in Y&Y---the entrees are all preboxed under a heat lamp, and IMO suffer because of it. Fast service, but...well...the food was meh.

Africa is really suffering without a viable CS alternative though. The line for that sandwich stand near the land entrance was literally across the street, and that place just looks awful.

Another vote for Flame Tree. :thumbsup2

Pizza Safari wasn't too bad for the price, couldn't complain and it offered a decent variety besides pizza.

Are there any sit down restaurants in AK besides Yak and Yeti and Tusker House? We're already doing Tusker House for Breakfast and Yak and Yeti just doesn't sound like our tastes.

Rainforest Cafe. Also, if you're looking for a place to have dinner, I have to recommend Boma, which is less then a five-minute bus drive away.

Take the train out to the Conservation station.

There you have your choice of: Lamb, Goat, and other four legged wonders.

Don't let the crowds or security folks bother you, just take a bite of them good eats and they'll leave you alone.

For the veggies out there...just jump off the train at the animal housing, push those Rinos out the way, and dig in. They'll gladly let you.

I don't know about the seafish, but I do enjoy a good landfish now and then. :rotfl:

Do you know if Rainforest cafe is on the dining plan? We will be on the dxdp. We had thought about Boma, but we both pretty picky eaters and didn't know if Boma would be a good fit. Do they have any normal type food for us picky eaters?

Rainforest Cafe is not on the dining plan.

What is your idea of normal food? Boma has "some" things that might suit you, but maybe not a lot of options if you are not somewhat adventurous.
