Found out some friends of ours will be at WDW the same time as our family. We plan to meet for lunch at AK. Can you recommend a place to eat???
I have a picky eater that loves chicken fingers or pizza. We want a quick meal, but want to be able to sit and visit. How is Pizzasafari?? What is Yak and Yeti, this is new since our last visit. Any help would be great. There will be 8 of us for lunch. Thanks everyone!! :grouphug:

Last time we were there we ate at the Tusker house and it was great!! Doing it again for lunch on my next trip in 2 months

Pizzafari is good for CS. I like the Italian sandwich a lot. The boys like the pizza. The seating area is comfortable and conducive to your planned visit.

Many posters here speak glowingly about Flame Tree BBQ which I mention for your consideration but have not personally tried. [BBQ snob :) ...]

Our favorite dining plan for AK is:

Tusker House character breakfast when the park opens....spend the day in the park...then when we get hungry later in the afternoon, we go to Flame Tree for some yummy BBQ and a cold Safari Amber. ;)

Hi

I agree Tusker House is a great option. You can make a ressie, but I have eaten there 3 times & just turned up on the day.

If you prefer CS try Flame Tree.

Tusker House is a buffet, and yes you will need a reservation. It is not quick service.

If you would like a quick service place, Flame Tree Barbeque is our favorite. Ribs platter or 1/2 rotis. chicken platter, or pulled pork or smoked turkey sandwich for the adults; kids meals choices are baked chicken leg meal or hot dog meal. Wonderful outdoor seating -- go all the way around the back of the place for a lovely "jungle pool" setting...or keep walking down through that area to a covered picnic table area that looks out over the lake with "Everest" in the background.

Pizzafari is just o.k. for us - so-so pizza, usually crazy crowded in there (and not exactly scenic.) But it's o.k. if you've got must-have-pizza fans in your group.

Yak & Yeti is an asian-style food restaurant. They do have a both inside (pricey!) restaurant menu/waiter style that needs reservations and they also have counter-service for quick meals. Asian foods like egg rolls & such.

Tusker House is a buffet. The food was great we had a party of 8 and it was everybodies favorite meal of the trip. We did not have a reservation but we got there 5 mins before it opened and got right in. I have a reservation this time though.

We did not like yak and yeti but liked flame tree, pizzafaria and Tusker house. I really miss the old tusker house though. The pizza is just ok at pizzafaria but their italian sandwich is really good. We have lucked out and not found it too terribly busy. Flame tree is good for the price. Generally everyone can find something to eat at rainforest so you can't go wrong there either. I find AK to have better food options than MK and DHS by far!
