Where to eat CS if Tusker House is closing?

First I must say that I love the Tusker House and I am sad to see it go as a counter service restaurant...

I know about the Flame tree for CS...Anything else for CS at AK???

I know what you mean. We leave in four days for our trip to WDW and we have struggled with our CS option for AK days. I believe Flame Tree and Pizzafari are the only true CS options at AK right now. Besides these two CS options, everything else is snack kiosks.

One of our two days at AK we are going to Animal Kingdom Lodge to have our CS at the Mara. The Mara is one of our favorite CS in all of WDW. They have a very wide selection to choose from, the portions are large and the quality is very good. It also gives you the opportunity to check out AKL.

We'll be there in October. Usually spend several days at AK. Like to eat a quick breakfast there after our first attraction. We always ate at Tusker House. Is there anywhere else to grab breakfast, not just a pastry and coffee? Thanks

I'd like to know this too. We have an early dinner reservation and I think eating lunch anywhere will be too much so I was hoping to have breakfast after hitting a few rides.

There is a burger place in Dinoland, but when my son saw that it was a McDonalds he left!

I too am sad about TH! However, a couple of weeks ago when we did not have time to walk back to TH and still make the Nemo show, we went to FlameTree. My husband loved the ribs, and I enjoyed my turkey sandwich. Even more than the veggie sandwich I usually get at TH!

My favorite and really good counter service restaurants are now closed for my trip Chakranadi Chicken shop and Tusker house. Restuarantosaurus is just like a McDs. Flame tree is ok but limited choice.

I think a LOT of us are bummed by this...I will be there in a few weeks and now I decided to plan fairly big breakfasts on my AK days then do the park and head out at closing for dinner ADR's....I looooved TH.

I agree. I was reading thru this series to see if anyone else felt like I did on the salmon. Buffets are pricey and expect that you will eat one of everything. We eat pretty light, especially at lunch so we don't get sleepy or sluggish as you get with a heavy meal.

The salmon was the best, for only 7.99. Even if they put salmon on the buffet, it won;t go over well as fish will dry out under a heat lamp. Maybe the new Yak and Yeti will offer this entree.

Flametree's food is pretty heavy too. Barbeque in the heat and humidity doesn't work that well. They also don't have air conditioned seating.

Tusker House rotis. chicken dinner, followed by the pre-dining plan version of carrot cake was our favorite meal at WDW. Pizzafari has a very good hot Italian sandwich.

I love Mara too. On the DDP desert is zebra domes and chocolate crunch mousse. Being a chocolatholic guess where I choose to eat?

I heard the outside coffee shop will still be open, and that was where the cinnamon rolls were sold!
