We have the horrible:mad: problem of having to begin our Disney trip a day earlier:goodvibes !!

We are staying off premises at either the Marriott Residence Inn (about 1.5 miles from MK entrance) or the Hilton at Disney World which I believe is in or across from the Disney Village.

Since we all ready have all of our meals booked, a nice variety of park restaurants and hotels, thought we would eat off premises this night. Or, at the least in Disney Village as I didn't book anything in there.

Any suggestions we are 2 adults and 2 older teen girls?

Don't want to pay too high a price as we already booked and planned for a long and expensive Disney trip!

If you stay at the Hilton, then you can walk to the Village Marketplace. In the market place , there is Rainforest Cafe which I like, but is very crowded. I have to admit that I really like the Earl of Sandwich. Good food. Inexpensive (for Disney) and you can sit outside and watch kids on the little rides or watch the boats come in. It's self service but I like it. Then you can top it off with a trip to Giarhdelli's.

It's also about a 10 min walk to Downtown Crossings where there are a lot more options, but crossing SR535, even WITH traffic lights, could be a nightmare I wouldn't want to do.

Hope this helps.

There is an IHOP RIGHT outside the DTD gate, to the left. Thats where we stopped for lunch when we left our vacation! You could tell everyone in the place was on a Disney High!

Earl of Sandwich was a good suggestion. Looking for something I can't get here but not super pricey! Maybe something in Old Key West or Saratoga Springs?? Will have a car.

We eat at Rainforest fairly often and are not big IHOP eaters except for an occasional breakfast.

Please keep 'em coming!

Just outside of DTD, there are a bunch of restaurants, mostly chains though. Olive Garden, Pizza Uno, Crab House, Orlando Ale House etc. Since you asked about OKW, Olivia's is good. I've had both lunch and dinner there and was pleasantly suprised with the food.

If you want to go to great restaurant outside of Disney, check out Roy's in Orlando. The food is excellent.

Our first night in the area, we usually drive to City Walk at Universal and eat at Emeril's. Now Emeril's is very pricey. But there are many other establishments--including Bubba Gump Shrimp (not sure if this is correct name) which I hear is very good and very reasonable.

We really enjoyed Bahama Breeze when we were in Orlando a few weeks ago. It's not far from where you're staying, it's on the corner where you turn to go to the outlet mall.

I would probably recommend one of the off-site restaurants because I think you'll be sick of Disney food if you have a long trip planned. I really like Uno's pizza or Chevy's tex-mex right there at the Crossroads.

Lots of great choices now! Forgot about Emeril's. Might do that but just my husband and I another time.

As PP noted, there are a number of options at The Crossroads.

Personal favourite: Perkins.

We've consistently had good food there--albeit a bit too much!

Crossroads..... We love Chevys:love:

 they also have happy hour in the afternoon...
Alot of times we share the fajitas! yummy!

We almost always get to Orlando the evening before our official trip. LAst year we tried Giordanno's. The are best known for their stuffed pizza I think. It rocks! We are planning to dining there again this year! Be prepared that it takes a while for the pizza to cook though, but well worth it in our opinion!

We really enjoyed Emeril's Tchoup Chop.

Another funky fun place we found in the Cafe TuTu Tango. Really fun with dancers and artists performing throughout the restaurant. The food is Tapas. We were four adults and each choice three different dishes - lots of fun to try so many different things and the food was really good. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the pizza

Oh we loooved Tchoup Chop. If Op didn't want Emril's they probably won't want that but man is that place amazing! the decor was outrageous. I love the sound of Cafe TuTu Tango. I need to try it.

When we used to live in Orlando, we always ate at Cafe Tu Tu Tango on I-drive. I love that place. As PP mentioned, it is small plates, so everyone orders 1 or 2 and then shares. Personal favorite: Cajun Chicken Eggrolls. I also love the 4 cheese pizza, empanadas... I can't remember what else now but it's all so good. You can get "priority seating" also by calling ahead now (or close to your trip). Dang, now I'm hungry. :)

Have fun!

One of the best places (and most affordable) to eat near Disney is the Orlando Ale House. If you're leaving out of the Downtown Disney area take a left and go to the end of the road...you'll come to a red light once you go through all those hotels and you'll see a McD's straight ahead. Take a left, go up a block to another red light and take another left. Ale House will be on your right. Easy to find. They have the best pasta, steaks, seafood....you name it and it's HUGE portions (plenty to share) and most meals are between $8-$12. EXCELLENT food! If you just want fast food the Chick Fi La near Animal Kingdom is amazing and the food is always cooked fresh and is always very good! Always good service too!
