I would like to do one maybe two breakfast PS. We are going in May with not kids. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would not mind a charater breakfast.

What buffets have the best food?

Also we are trying to find somewhere for dinner in or near MK. MK lacks a lot of choices for sit down dinners. I am open to suggestions here as well.

Thanks! :flower1:

Do you have any sort of preferences for either meals? Two of our absolute favorite breakfasts are at Boma and Crystal Palace. I think that sentiment is echoed around here, as well :)

At the MK, there are five sit down restaurants, but tons of choices outside as well. What kind of a dinner are you looking for? Atmosphere? Loud/quiet? Type of food?

I would like something a little on the quiet side for dinner. We like pretty much anything, just not some of the more "fancy" stuff.

Thanks

Ok, that narrows it down quite a bit :)

The Kona Cafe at the Polynesian is one of our very, very favorites, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Everything's always been wonderful. It is open to the upper lobby area, but it's always been fairly quiet when we go.

Inside the Magic Kingdom is the Plaza Restaurant, which has salads and sandwiches. It's fairly small, but the food was very good.

There are also places like Artist Point at the WL, the California Grill, the restaurants at the Grand Floridian, but those are all on the fancier side. For quiet, though, you'll want to stay away from: Chef Mickey's, Concourse Steakhouse (just because it's right next to Chef Mickey's), Ohana, Whispering Canyon Cafe, any of the character meals (1900 Park Fare, Liberty Tree Tavern, etc).

I'm not sure how Tony's Town Square or Cinderella's Royal Table are on noise level, we haven't eaten there yet.

Anyway, to end this long-winded post, Kona Cafe is my big thumbs up. We've been there more than any other Disney restaurant.

We love Kona for any meal but I don't think of it as a quiet choice for dinner. Grand Floridian Cafe is quiet and moderately priced as is Kona. Citricos at the GF is very quiet, very good and very expensive.

Fresh at the Dolphin is a wonderful breakfast buffet. If I were picking two breakfast PSs they would be Kona and Fresh.

For dinner inside MK, I too would choose the Plaza as long as soup, salad and sandwiches will suffice.

I really enjoyed breakfast at Boma at AKL.

The best breakfast buffets in WDW are Fresh at the Dolphin and Boma at AKL, IMHO. As far as dinner near/around the MK, there are lots of great choices, and many have been mentioned. I personally am loving Kona for dinner these days. We tend to travel to WDW during less busy times of the year (early Dec/May or late Jan) and Kona has never been busy. The dinner menu has some great options and we have received great service there. CG is one of our favorites around the MK, but quiet it is not. If you haven't done so already, check out the menus at www.allearsnet.com as they can help guide you to locate a restaurant that has food that is most suited to your tastes.

I really like Whispering Canyon for breakfast. They have an all you care to eat Skillet that is served family style. Its out of this world!

Our favorite breakfasts are Spoodles, Kona Cafe, Boma and Fresh.

For dinner around the MK..our top choice would be Artist Point over at Wilderness Lodge. The food and service are wonderful.

Hey - we don't have kids and we also "don't mind" character breakfasts. :-)

Our favorites spots are:

Kona Cafe - love the tonga toast and the kona coffee. A must for us every trip.

Garden Grove - this is a wonderful buffet at the Swan. They have characters (Pluto, Goofy is all I saw) on the weekends. The food is fabulous - I'm a food snob so I really don't like buffets. Eggs cooked to order, fresh squeezed oj. Delicious! You don't need a PS

Fresh - this is also a wonderful buffet at the Dolphin. I'd say even a step up from Garden Grove. Pancakes, waffles, french toast and eggs cooked to order. Fresh squeezed oj, and STARBUCKS coffee. Again, no PS
