Where to eat breakfast before parks?

My DH has a convention in Orlando, and we're piggybacking on his trip. So for 3 days, he'll be at the OCCC and I'll be in the parks with the three kids. Problem is, we're staying off-site, and he'll have the car. So we're trying to figure out how to get us to the parks! :confused3

I was thinking perhaps I should make some breakfast ADRs that get us on property early in the morning, and then we can take Disney transportation to the parks.

One day, we will most certainly be at MK. The other 2 days are open as to what park we will visit.

So, breakfast suggestions for the different parks? It wouldn't have to be IN a park, it could be at a resort. Doesn't need to be character.

my favorite breakfast in the world is at Ohana at the Poly. It is character but I would go even if it wasn't because the food is great and the monorail is easy access as well

I highly suggest going to Crystal Palace for your MK day, Akershus for your Epcot day, and if you want to go to DHS go to Cape May Cafe breakfast. All of these are character meals but are very much worth it. For Crystal Palace and Akershus if you can score an ADR for before the park even opens then that is a bonus (you can get really awesome pictures with not a lot of people in the parks) and then for Cape May Cafe, which is at BC, you can either walk or take a very nice boat ride over to DHS for the day. Hope this helps :goodvibes

You are not allowed to stay parked at a hotel once your meal is over. You would have to get back into your car and drive to the park.

They actually enforce this now. Someone was reallllllly yelling with the front desk on our last trip about either get a ticket or towed or something. He had eated at 'Ohana and then gone to the Magic Kingdom for the day via the monorail.

Your best bet is probably Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom, Askerhaus at Epcot and Donald's Tusker House at Animal Kingdom. Those will all let you into the park early if you can get a reservation before park opening.

We won't have a car parked there at all! My DH would drop us of, and go to the convention center. He would meet us at the park later in the day, and park at whatever park we are visiting.

So no parking at the resort required at all! :)

Thank you all for the suggestions! I know very little about the resorts and where they are located, so it was helpful to hear that some are within walking distance of certain parks.

We did Ohana two years ago and loved it - no problem going back there!!!!!

Then I recommend 1900 Park Fare or Chef Mickey's. Both are great!

you could also just grab counter service at ANY resort and then take their bus over to the park. (though I don't think this is technically allowed) I've never ever seen a bus driver ask for room verification that you're allowed on the disney buses.

Anyone can use Disney transport so they will be in good shape :thumbsup2

If you're going to Epcot or DHS, my suggestion would be Cape May Cafe at the BC, which is within walking distance to Epcot or a quick boat ride to DHS :) (or you could also walk to DHS). If you will be spending the day at MK, Ohana at the Poly is very good, as well as 1900 Park Fare at the GF, or Chef Mickey's at the CR ;).

For MK I'd definitely suggest Crystal Palace - its our favorite breakfast buffet in the MK/MK area. (We haven't done Ohana, but have done Chef Mickey's and 1900 Park Fare and didn't like the atmosphere of either - both were rushed and fairly cramped.)

For Epcot, I'd suggest Cape May - its a nice quiet breakfast even with the characters. Cape May would also work for a DHS day. :)

We've also done Boma for breakfast on a DHS day since its not too far from the park. (The AK and DHS buses come more frequently than the others at AKL.)

For I would suggest Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey, or 1900 Park for your MK day. Chef Mickey and 1900 Park are just a monerail ride away from MK and Epcot. My family personally does not like the food or atmosphere at akershus. I would suggest Chef Mickey or 1900 Park for that day as you can then take the monerail to Epcot after. Chef Mickey opens (i believe) at 7 am. If you get an early reservation you could be in the parks by/around opening. I believe 1900 Park opens at 8 am. I would choose one of the above for each day as these are my family's top picks for breakfast restaurants.

In my opinion, it depends on when you're husband is going to drop you off. If you are being dropped off two hours before the park opens, you'll want to do one of the hotel suggestions offered above.

If you're being dropped off close to rope drop, then I'd do a restaurant in the park.

Have fun!
