We've never seen Cirque before, so we can't wait to see it. Which Downtown Disney restaurant should we try before seeing the show? If I'm not mistaken, House of Blues is close to the Cirque tent, and I've read good reviews on it. Thanks, Sue
I'd be interested in knowing the answer to your question also. We are going to see La Nouba for the first time, and I know we have to be there 30-45 minutes before (according to the info that came with our tickets), so I want to time it so we're not late. We're going to the later show, so we shouldn't have too much of a time issue, but I dread being late (so I'm usually too early!!).
We have never eaten before Cirque but afterwards. The first time we had dinner in Fulton's Crab House, it was wonderful!! The second time we ate at Cap 'n' Jacks, it was great too. We are going to see La Nouba in October and are planning on eating at Fulton's. Both restaurants are a little away from the theatre, I know there are restuarants closer, but we feel that both restaurants are worth the walk.
Hope this helps and that you have a great time whatever you decide to do.
We saw the show last week (it was AWESOME!!!) and ate at Planet Hollywood beforehand. We had 9:00 show tix so we ate at 6:30 and had plenty of time to people watch before the show.
We also ate at Portebello Yacht Club and had a great meal there - I would highly recommend that if you're into Italian fare.
We looked at Bongo's menu and would have eaten there but could not get a PS and the wait was 90 minutes. Didn't look at Puck's. We've been to Rainforest Cafe several times too - can't go wrong there!
If you happen to be going to Disney Quest before the show I would eat there - Cheesecake Factory...enough said!!
I would suggest Fulton's or Wolfgang Puck's, if you're looking for someplace nice. WP's has a slight advantage as it's actually on the West Side of Downtown Disney -- less walking!
Otherwise, I would hit House of Blues. They have great food and a very laid-back atmosphere.
We saw Cirque 2 years ago and ate at Wolfgang Pucks. It was pretty good. We both had flatbread pizza and ate on the patio. The atmosphere was great, but we waited over an hour for a table. We gave ourselves alot of time before the show and enjoyed a few drinks also. I would reccomend it. After the show (which is 2+ hours long) we had cheesecake at the Cheesecake Factory in Disney Quest....yummy!!!

I'm right there with you, Songbert! DF and I are going to se "La Nouba" for the first time in October (can't wait!) and I've read so often about how it's ESSENTIAL to get to the Cirque building at least 45 minutes early, so I'm very nervous about being late! I thought about getting a PS at Wolfgang Puck's Upstairs Dining (right next to the Cirque theatre) but I actually haven't heard such great things about it, so I think I'm going to opt for Portabella's Yacht Club. The menu (which you can find at www.wdwig.com) sounds positively YUMMY, and it seems to get good reviews here on the DIS as well.
House of Blues is right next to Cirque and is wonderful....though I'd avoid it if I didn't like food with lots of flavor and some spice! We just ate at HOB in Myrtle Beach yesterday....I'm still thinking fondly of the Voodoo Shrimp! And excellent unsweet tea as well. My dh likes the Jambalaya...its very spicy. I also had a wonderful mixed field greens salad with goat cheese, spiced pecans and tomato shallot vinaigrette.
We love House of Blues! We've found Planet Hollywood to be rather mediocre....and had a pretty bad experience at Rainforest. But if you're eating before Cirque, Rainforest is a bad idea anyway since its at the completely opposite end of DD.
Be sure you go to Ghirardelli's for an ice cream sundae or coffee. Hot fudge/brownie is a real killer!
As for getting to the theatre early... don't get too stressed over it. We went in early December, the house was probably 2/3 full. No real delays getting in, we arrived 15 minutes before show.
Cirque shows tend to have a lot going on long before the official opening - clowns wandering through the audience, that sort of thing - so arriving early means you will get to see most of that.
After reading all your posts, Fulton's sounds great. How long of a walk is it from Cirque to Fulton's. I will have 4 kids (8-10) with me & we'll be eating after the 6:00 show. I don't want them to be too tired & hungry to make the walk to Fulton's. Or should I narrow it down to just the ones at WS?
Motaei--I asked the same question a few days ago and was told it was quite a hike, especially for the little ones. I never got an answer as to exactly how long of a walk it is to Fultons. Anyone know?? How long would it take from when Cirque is over to exit the building and get there?
We are planning for Cirque and House of Blues on our first night in Feb. I can't wait. We have never been to Cirque. Hubby was watching Bravo and said he wanted to see Cirque on our next trip. I could not believe he suggested it. He is usally a stick in the mud.

DH and I ate there January 2003 and LOVED it! It was quaint, quiet, romantic and the food was amazing! The creme brulee was the *best* I've ever had. We had a seat by the window and it was the best meal we had that entire vacation. See photo: http://community.webshots.com/photo/60789925/60792471DaNDMJ
