So I'm trying to decide where we should stop and eat at MK in September. I don't really want a big sit down meal. more like a counter service meal.

So where do you think the best place to grab a quick bite to eat would be in MK?

The Plaza is sit down but it is more like sandwiches etc. Our family loves that place.

For an actual counter we like Columbia Harbor House.

You will probably get an answer for each counter service :)
Cosmic Rays has all of the staples, hamburger, chicken, etc. It has a nice bar with lettuce tomatoes, etc for you to add your own toppings.

Well, i think you will get a slew of answers here. lol We walked into Harbour House our last trip, we were hot and all we smelled was grease. they have fantastic looking food, but DH wanted to try somewhere else. So we headed up to Pinochio Haus. The food was OK...DH said his sandwich was good. I LOVED the decor. Stay on the main floor, walk towards the front of the restaurant. We had the entire section to ourselves and i really enjoyed the murals and coo coo clock...really like a little german house. So cute!
Food wise, Cosmic Rays hands down. You can eat in, eat out, all types of food are there. I LOVE their Greek Salad. The salad bar is great too. I always grab some tomatoes for the kids there...any vegetable helps between ice cream and popcorn! :)
We have always been fans of Pecos Bills, but I think in the last 3 trips, we've exhausted the place.
Lastly, a small tucked away area we REALLY enjoyed was Sleepy Hollow. Not a huge menu, more light lunch type of place. We went for a snack after BBB and PL (before lunch) and DS ordered as his snack cream of (something) soup. Good enough... that's what he ate. I hate funnel cake.:lovestruc
These are our favs... depends on our mood. But we are very excited to get back to Cosmic Rays... if you can find seats facing the castle, it's usually less busy in that area. (and you can eat on the patio facing the castle too!)

We love Columbia Harbor House. It's a CS that feels a bit like a TS. Yes the downstairs is loud and chaotic and the lines can be crazy but the upstairs is much quieter and nice and cool. You can sit down and decompress for a bit. We all enjoy the food there, too!

I agree with PP's. Columbia Harbour House is always our fave and we love sitting upstairs. If you get there early for lunch, around 11-ish, there are no lines.

Another vote for The Plaza
I know it is a sit down meal but it is sandwich like and great desserts. You do not have to wait in line for your food and you get to sit and relax in a very nice atmosphere.
This is a MUST do for us on every trip.....

When I'm in the mood for a burger, I head to Pecos Bills.

If I want chicken/ribs and the rest of the family wants burgers - Cosmic Rays because they sell both.

If we want sandwiches - Columbia Harbour House.

I tried Pinochio Village Haus for lunch and didn't like their offerings.

For a quick snack, I like either a Dole Whip in Adventureland or a Root Beer Float at Mrs. Potts in Fantasyland. Or Popcorn in Frontierland. I used to like the fruit stand in Toontown too but that's all gone now.

I like Columbia Harbour House the best because I love fried fish. The rest of the family likes Cosmic Rays the best because everyone can find something they like there since it has great variety. Pecos Bill's is ok. I don't think the burgers are too great though.

My husband and I love Pecos Bill's - the burgers are great, love the topping bar! And the chicken wraps are super yummy, too. Also, Casey's for a great hot dog.

Another vote for Columbia Harbor House and Casey's (never go to Magic Kingdom without getting a Casey's hot dog) :thumbsup2

the thing we like best about Cosmic Rays in Tomorrowland is SUNNY ECLIPSE!
he is a character in a room connected to the food court. a robot that plays and sings a vegas typs schmaltzy routine. just a little added extra to enjoy while eating. the food court has a great tooppings bar for burgers, etc. I loved the ribs/chicken combo. hubby didn't like it. go figure.

the nice thing about columbia harour house is to go upstairs to eat. less crowded.. they have a condiment table up there, and you could get a window table overloooking eithr fantasy land or liberty square. and the fried fish is decent.

for a "snack" or breakfast, we love to SPLIT a funnel cake at Sleepy hollow. across from the christams store in liberty square,( across from the now defunct DSA, yet ANOTHER disappearing smoking area. and even tho hubby and I quit smoking a month a a half ago:thumbsup2, I STILL think it sucks that they keep removing DSAs)

we easily split a funnel cake . sometimes we use 1 snack credit for a funnel cake, and 1 for a root beer float, and split them/

Another vote for the Plaza! We discovered this gem on our last trip. I felt the prices were somewhere between CS and TS, the service was great and the food was yummy! It was a very relaxed way to have lunch and even though it's technically TS, we did not need an ADR. We will definitely go back :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies everyone :)

New question.

Where are these places located in the park?

Cosmic rays is in tomorrow land but where is the plaza and peco bills?

The Plaza is is right at the end of Main St. On the right hand side, as you walk in. Peco Bills is in Frontierland, near Splash Mountain.

We love Columbia House for Fried Shrip and Clam Chowder. All the places pp mentioned are in MK.

Peco Biill's for a sandwich withh all the fixins you would want!

for a longer bite... The Plaza or Tony's Town square.

My favorite counter service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom is definitely Columbia Harbour House, located in Liberty Square directly across from the entrance to The Haunted Mansion. I particularly enjoy the sandwiches -- one with tuna and one with hummus, broccoli slaw and tomatoes -- but the fried seafood is also tasty if you can handle the grease. If you're especially hungry, Columbia Harbour House also serves a serviceable New England clam chowder.

Enjoy!

Cosmic Ray's would be our choice DD likes to get in her own line to get her meal and entertainment not bad.:cutie:
