Where to eat a late lunch in the Boardwalk area?

We will be arriving around 2 pm and will not be able to enter Epcot that day. We won't want to travel far to grab a bite since we'll probably be pretty hungry by then. I know that the Boardwalk area is pretty quiet in the afternoon and some things don't open until late afternoon or early evening. Any suggestions?

ESPN is open for lunch, as is the Spoodles Pizza window. I'm not sure about Big River Grille, but I think the food is horrible so I avoid the place like the plague. If you wander over to Beach Club, you could eat at Beaches and Cream, they are also open. At Yacht Club, the Yacht Club Galley is open for lunch. You'll find a few of the restaurants open over at Swan/Dolphin, though I'm not as familiar with them.

Here are the times for the restuarants that will be open in the sourrounding area :)

Boardwalk: Big River: Lunch 11:30am-5pm / Dinner 5pm-11pm
Boardwalk: ESPN Club: 11:30am-1am (sun-thurs) 11:30am-2am (fri-sat)
Boardwalk: Spoodles Pizza Window: noon-midnight

Beach Club: Beaches and Cream: 11am-11pm

Not sure the Lunch times for the Swan and Dolphin resturants... but I do know that the Yacht Club Galley closes at 2pm so unless you are early...

And just a side note, I love Big River...to each his own I guess :)

We would probably go to Beaches and Cream. But then, we like their sundaes!

I vote for ESPN. I had a very nice lunch there in December and look forward to going again soon. :D

I agree with Kaycee and Id vote for ESPN too. Beaches and Cream would be a close second. :)

I second that go to ESPN or Beaches and Cream they are both great. Have fun and enjoy :wizard:

The beauty of "bar food" is it is pretty consistent. ESPN doesn't blow my socks off but at least you will feel confident that you are going to get a good burger.

As far as Big River's food it is pretty hit or miss. They have a few things on the menu that I love (the apple pork chops) and some really bland choices that I tend to avoid. The main reason we stop there for multiple meals when we go is so we can grab an outside table and people watch while enjoying a few micro beers.

We are fans of Big River Grille, especially for lunch. It has always been very good for us and we eat lunch there at least once or twice each trip. Beers are good and if it is a nice day, you can sit outside and enjoy the ambience of the Boardwalk (unless something has change, I don't believe that Spoodles and ESPN have this option of outside seating).

Libertybelle is there any place online to find the hours of WDW restaurants?

The Yacht Club Galley was the best ! We had such a great lunch. We just strolled in feeling tired not knowing what to expect and were blown away. The food was great and not at all expensive.
I cant recommend Beaches and Cream - just plain awful and expensive too -in fact the worst meal we have ever had in WDW
