Where to buy RX sunglasses online

That would work I guess. I tried a discount optician......not mail order....years and years ago, and the glasses were so bad I've been afraid to try anything other than a regular optician.

You, and most every other person I know. It takes a leap of faith, but....

When you KNOW you are getting charged $300 for a pair of frames that cost at the most $9 to make.....:rolleyes1

I don't mind paying for good lenses, but the frame prices at the local places are really, really, well....

LOL. I haven't paid $300 for a pair of glasses in probably 30 years. Before I had vision insurance, they cost $400. After vision insurance, $900 with with the insurance paying all but my $400 deductible. :rotfl2:

HAHA

As I said, I was just saying "for frames only, not including the lenses" which would probaby be a couple of hundred more.

But, last time I went into a local store was a few years ago, so I am sure prices have gone up...

Really, though, the thing that pushed me to online was the attitude of the staff of the local place. I said something along the line that the price seemed a bit high -- not in a nasty way or anything -- and the woman said something along the line of "Well, we don't sell cheap things. If you want junk, go somewhere else."

So, I did, :lmao:

I have convinced friends and family to try zenni with great results. I have used them for a few years now and probably haven't even paid over $200 in all that time. My previous designer glasses were like $300 for just the frame.

I have tried coastal too for designer glasses but I keep coming back to Zenni.

I helped my aunt replace her eyeglasses that the optical department wouldn't fix for her. Her progressive lenses and frame were $300 for a pair from the doctor. They told her to get used to the changes in prescription. She couldn't see! She ended up having her script reduced so she wouldn't get sick from the blurriness and depth problems with progressive lenses.

Zenni lenses and frames were around $90. I feel bad for people who don't know about zenni if they are on a limited income. For those who have poor eyesight, and can be forgetful- ordering online is a godsend. How else can you afford multiple pairs of glasses that you have to replace every couple years as your eye sight changes?

I order from Zenni & have for many years. Never had a single problem with either my son's or my prescription. That being said, the best way to order from Zenni is to sort them from Low Price to High Price. Otherwise you always end up finding the $39 ones instead of the $6.95 ones. If I sort this way I always find multiple pairs in the $6-$9 range. Another $4.95 for tinting & $4.95 for shipping and you have a nice pair of prescription sunglasses for under $20.:thumbsup2

I just had a fantastic experience with glasses.com.

I don't have vision insurance, and my cost at my local glasses shop (which I normally like to patronize) was going to by over $400. I found the same Kate Spade frames at glasses.com for a total of just over $200, including free lenses, and anti-glare.

Then, I learned that they offer an in-home try-on program. So, I ordered 4 different frames to try on at home to make sure there wasn't another frame that I might like better. I ended up ordering the same pair I thought I would, but it was great to be able to try them on at home. And their selection was so much greater than my local shop I wanted to try a handful more options before committing.

I also had to contact their customer services a couple of times for various questions - they answered on the first ring and were absolutely wonderful to work with. This was my first experience with them but I would highly recommend them to anyone!
