Where to buy postage stamps in Nassau Bahamas

Hi Guys.... I have searched the many forums and have not found any recent answers.
Anyone who has been on the Dream recently know if they sell Bahamas postage stamps on board?
If not where is the closest location in Nassau to the cruise dock that might sell stamps?
I have located the post office close to the docks but it is not open on Saturdays.

On board will be able to get you stamps. I think they hold mail till in a US port though.

I was on the Wonder last week. Didn’t look in Nassau, but the post office on Castaway Cay was closed. Guest relations on board sold me stamps and confirmed I wanted them mailed from Castaway Cay. They haven’t arrived yet that I have heard, so don’t know if they actually were mailed yet and from where...

The main post office is a close walk; about 10 minutes past Queen Anne's staircase & Fort Fincastle.

Guest Services had Bahamian stamps on Fantasy January 2018. Took about a month to arrive in MN mailed from the CC post office.

The post office on Castaway Cay is on Bahamian hours. Most of the time it's closed, but it is open at random times.

Postcards mailed from there back home arrive any time from a couple of weeks to months later. My mother never did receive the card I sent her (10 years ago).

Yes. American dollars could at most port stores. Just me sure you get American cash back and not lock currency.

a few points to ponder

the 'postmaster' does not live on CC but travels (by boat) from a nearby island to run the post office. any threat of weather issues means no post office .... and that's on the days they might open anyway (not weekends typically

mail service to many islands of the Bahamas are still by boat ... service is NOT daily ... so your mail travels by one boat from CC to another island and sits there until it gets on a regular mail boat for a trip towards Nassau .....

I agree that even seeing these bits of info the delivery time from CC seems LONG but that's the way it's been for a LONG time.

We posted post cards from the main post office in Nassau. Took 4 weeks to get home. It was the novelty of the experience more than the content of the post card

Yes. I used US Dollars. That was a couple years ago, but I can't imagine that it has changed.

Hi guys....Thank You to all that have posted replies.
I have a followup question.
To anyone that did mail a post card from Castaway Cay and finally did receive it.
Did the post card or letter have a Castaway Cay postmark or was it postmarked with some other location?

We would just like to have a souvenir from Castaway Cay even if it takes weeks to get back to us.

We leave in 10 days or so for our Holiday cruises.
Whatever happens concerning the postage and mail I will post a follow up.
