Where to buy Cigarettes in WDW

The duty free shop is a great idea! A carton (10? packs of 20 cigs each) will be the cheapest there.

I agree, not a touchy subject. :)

If you are paying the US equivelent of $8 a carton I strongly urge you to buy them there and bring your own. We live in one of the cheapest states to buy cigarettes and we pay about $23 a carton here. Also, even if they share a brand name, cigarettes here taste very different from those available in europe. I smoke Marlboro Lights. While in Germany I bought their version and it was MUCH stronger than ours. You may not like what you are able to find here. I was able to buy a pack at the Pop Century gift shop about a year ago but had to ask and was told then that they would stop carrying them soon. Best to bring your own and and make sure you have enough for the day on you. Just be sure to smoke only in designated areas. Smoking laws are pretty strict here.

I think Fizz is meaning a packet costs $8, not a carton. Nowhere in the UK sells cigarettes for $8 a carton... Not legally anyway!

Yes I did mean a pack, not a carton, sorry. Thanks for all your replies/ comments and I will buy them duty-free at the airport before I come. I agree, cigarettes can taste very different from one country to another and yes, our european marlboro lights are as strong as most other regular cigarettes.
Thanks again and much pixie dust,
Claire

Gum, however, is not sold at MCO so if you or anyone in your family needs it for your flight stock up before you leave home.

You mean they don't sell gum at the airport? What about last minute shoppers who want to chew something to clear their ears or something? I've NEVER heard of an airport that didn't sell gum!

Apparently they do because back in the 80's when I was a smoker you could buy them everywhere. Oh, they were expensive compared to off site but they were in clear sight and all over. The number of brands was limited but you could find them easily.

The more recent "non smoking" campaigns have put smoking close to the same catagory as "serial killers" so they have reacted and have completely hidden what little they have available.

My advise...buy them before you arrive.

The Wal Mart is Kissimee(sp?) has a decent pick and a little cheaper(last trip we had a smoker who had to restock)

If I've said it once, I've said it 1,000 times.

Smoking is NOT a character flaw!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you can buy them in the hotel gift shops. But good luck finding a place to smoke, even OUTSIDE!, where someone doesn't start whining about it.

Aargh.

They don't. I bought my pack before going to WDW. It's just cheaper and easier that way.

I agree with you. Smoking is great! I didn't know that you could buy them at hotel gift shops. Though, I just buy my pack at home before flying...I would imagine they would charge $10 for a pack of smokes.

I don't smoke, but was that comment really necessary. Obviously you did not know the answer the OP's question so just stay quiet.

I agree. For that matter, why even view this thread?? However, I do think smoking is a character flaw. We're weak...we're weak. Anyhows, on the same note, when you get the map of the park does it show you where the smoking areas are? I actually like the fact that I can only smoke in designated areas. It will keep me from smoking too much. I'm bringing a carton from home and I hope I don't run out but its good to know I can get them in the resort gift shops. And $5 or $6 bucks a pack is average for me (well....a little high) but not much higher than home.

Yes, the smoking areas are indicated on the map and well marked in the parks.

Some of the ones I can recall are:

Magic Kingdom
Just past Tony's to the right near the Chapaeu
In Tomorrowland just to the left of Carousel of Progress
In Frontierland next to the McDonalds Fry Cart
In Adventureland near Pirates of the Carribean
In Fantasyland behind the castle

Studios
Just past Oscars across from the restrooms
To the left of the entrance of RnRC
In a little alcove near SciFi restaurant
In the courtyard in the Fantasmic Theater
Near the wall close to the Brown Derby

Epcot
Near a planter close to Coral Reef restaurant near the water
In UK either in the tea rose garden or near where British Invasion play (they keep moving it)

Animal Kingdom
Just past the bridge on the way into Africa right before you get to Dawa Bar on the left
Near the restrooms in Camp Minnie Mickey
There is a path in between Africa and Asia off in the trees that has a smoking area
There is also an area in view of the monkey habitat down in an alcove near an old Coca Cola sign in Asia
Just after you get off of the train going to Conservation Station

That is all that I can recall at the moment. There are many others.

Wow Carol!! Did you take alot of cigarette breaks maybe???:teeth: Thanks for the info. How do they show it on the map....a little skull and crossbones!!

Not really, just many trips over the last 3 years. (I usually go twice a year). I'll be getting 4 trips off this AP.

The last time I flew I went to the gift shop to buy gum. The lady behind the counter said they don't sell it because of the carpeting. Now I know to bring it with me!

The map will show a little cigarette. Just go to that area and look for a trash can with a sand box on top. The actual smoking area may or may not have a sign up. Sometimes they are tucked away and a bit hard to find.

There is also a smoking area behind the Christmas Shop in MK. There are also characters there. So I guess while parents smoke kids can get autographs:rolleyes:

There is also a smoking area along the river near Splash Mountain.

I do not smoke but often travel with people who do. My one friend always bought here cigarettes at a store on the way to the hotel (town car store stop) because they were cheaper there than here. I think they are about the same price here as they are in the gift shops.

I personally have no issue with you smoking as long as you stay in smoking areas of park with your lit cig. I do know that Resort gift shops sold them but they were hidden behind counter.
