I'll apologise up front, as I'm sure this is a rehashed topic on here.

I'm just wondering where other folks from Canada, namely Ontario book Disney vacations. Directly with Disney, Travel Agency, which is better? Someone mentioned The Disney Store. I think there is one in Ottawa, I can't find a listing for it though. I've found variables between TAs. I just don't know the best place to go, and no I'm not a CAA member. Thanks...

We joined CAA and it has been well worth it. We have save at least $350 US per trip booked thru them. I am pretty sure they have just a membership for travel only. I have booked thru a regular TA, her prices were equal to Disney, but even booking thru CAA was cheaper than booking thru them, Good luck!

Before buying DVC we booked our trips through Dreamsunlimited and had great service. If you have CAA they can get you a discount on a room-only reservation. If you want a CAA discounted package you can only get that through CAA. If you are going to use a TA find one that specializes in Disney. They will be able to give you touring advice, book your ADR's and automatically apply discounts when they come out. There are a few Canadian Disney specialists on the boards here.

If you look up Madonna31 on this site. She is from Fairytale Dreams & Destinations . She is a Canadian Disney Specialist we are using.

We are using Dream Come True Vacations on our current trip. They are great. They are an online Disney TA.

Golly, I didn't think I'd get such a good response. I guess what I'd like to know is: Can I save any by booking myself?

Wow, this company Fairytale Destinations must have many TAs. I've had a few contact me 'cause of this posting. Golly, now I have several companies to choice. Are all Disney specialists nearly equal?

Good morning :goodvibes
I usually book with Cruise Ship Centers. You can book online with them, or visit their offices (which are all over the place). They don't just book cruises, and I use them for all my vacations.

The CAA package discount is the only one that can only be booked through CAA. For everything else booking direct or through a TA will get you the same price unless you are thinking about a Disney cruise. For DCL a larger travel agency can book blocks of rooms and provide exclusive discounts.

Some people want to be more in control and do everything themselves. If you book through a TA you can't call Disney to check on your reservation.

On the other hand a Disney specialist TA will provide you a number of services at no charge that you would be crazy to pass up (booking ADR's, ...). As well a good Disney specialist TA will review your booking as discounts come out to see if they can get you a better deal. For me it was great just emailing our TA (Beth Czada at DU) what ADR's we wanted and she looked after the rest. No waiting forever on the phone. As well Beth was able to give us planning advice based on her many trips.

I book with (taken out due to not sure if this is allowed on DIS boards) . Though she is in the States has a toll free number. She even got up early to book my Palo reservations for our first cruise. She is very friendly, caring, knowledgeable. If you would like the number just PM. We had booked a vacation a few months before I got sick and needed a walker and scooter to get around. Her first thought was I needed a handicap room for the cruise I did not even ask for that. But she got on the phone to Disney and got me a handicap room and also the room at Coranado Springs. Being new to a disability she was very encouraging and truly cared. Talking to her now when I book my vacations is like talking to a old friend.

You could just search this forum... or check a page or 2 back. The search function here is pretty good.

(p.s. - it's apologize - with a z, that's the Canadian way)
