I'm hoping some people here can help me get started in finding good places to have dinner a few nights while we are at Disney. We are staying at POFQ. Staying onsite is new to us and we are used to having dinner at home or at a variety of chain restaurants when we go to Disney, and just fast food for lunch while at the parks. We will probably do 3 days at the parks and 3 rest days. So, I'm looking for primarily for restaurants with easy access from POFQ that are good with picky 4 and 6 year olds (and I'm picky, too, I'll admit!). We will not have a car. Any thoughts on where to start looking would be appreciated. We like the idea of exploring some other resorts as well. Thanks!

Laurie: You can start with Boatwrights- the restaurant at the PO- It's moderately priced- and every time I've eaten there- the food has been delicious.

the boat ride from PO to Downtown Disney is wonderful!! You could check out Rainforest Cafe. Although it's not my favorite place, your kids might really enjoy it. And there are other restaurants in DTD. Check the menu's section here for ideas. Have a great trip!

Check out allearsnet.com for menus at all the different places in DW including DD. I would suggest Wolfgang Pucks fast restaurant menu for quick, inexpensive food and food the kids will like (mac and cheese).

Well at POR the sitdown rest. is an easy relaxing place Boatwrights - but you've got to love the boat trip to DTD - there is also Earl of Sandwich...

You can do any of the resorts too - for instance take a bus to AK, or MK then from there swap to a bus to any resort, AKL or WL would be a great day trip for the kids - and each have wonderful places to eat also!! You do have to take a bus to a park to get a bus to a different resort - but the kids will love those trips just as well!! At POR you have the pool, and fishing too to enjoy!!

Oh, dont forget over at Wilderness Lodge - there is the Trail's End Buffet - you can take the boat from MK to Fort Wilderness or a bus from a park to Fort Wilderness again, check the menus from www.allearsnet.com look at all the resort places to choose from... HoopdeDoo is expensive, but the Trail's End buffet may be a good choice, and if you check Fort Wilderness it seems they have a movie night out there too!! If your kids are "night owls" mine are!!

Make sure you get off the boat at Fort Wilderness, not Wilderness Lodge for the Trail's End Buffet. Although you also might consider doing Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge one night for dinner. Your kids should get a kick out of all the antics and there's plenty on the menu that even picky eaters would like. Catch the boat over from MK, have dinner and explore the Lodge. It's really breathtaking.

WE 2nd Boatwrights, it is a short (8min) walk up the path to POR. The food and service was great! POFQ has a great food court for breakfast. It is easier to do meals at the parks vs the resorts if you dont have a car. You will have to take a bus (for ex.) to MK, then take the monorail to the poly for Ohanas or take another bus to AKL for Boma and then do the same thing on the way back. It can take awhile somedays. We liked Yachtsman but walked over from epcot world showcase.
