Hello Fellow Disney Friends,

I'm a long time lurker, new poster here. I'm recently engaged with no date set yet. I'm a big Disney fan (kind of new to that as well) and I have so many ideas about what I might want to do for a wedding, Disney location or theme of course included in some of those ideas. I could go on and on with my story but I'd rather get right to it.

OK, so I have read so many incredible stories here from the many Disney brides. I've followed lots of links to DFTW info, photos, Disney accessories, etc. But I still have so many questions. There is ample info within this board, but sometimes when time constraints are an issue, it is hard to find everything.

My dream would be to do the Escape DFTW package & a reception back at home but I just don't think this is within in our budget. After reading about the many other lovely and creative ideas to keep Disney a part of it somehow, including other locations, suggestions, it has led me to tons of questions.

Here is my laundry list so far: :laundy:

If you have an offsite ceremony, can you have an onsite reception? IE - Swan & Dolphin intimate ceremony and Epcot desert reception?

If you have an offsite ceremony, can you arrange for a Disney photo shoot?

What exactly is a Disneymoon photo shoot and where can I get more specifics/pricing information on this?

Does anyone have any fantastic ideas or suggestions?

:confused3

That's it for starters. I'm sure I will think of more. Thanks in advance from the newbie :bride:

Welcome! :wave2:

As you said, these Boards are a great resource - the only limitation is the sometimes-balky search engine.

To answer your first round o' questions...

Unfortunately Disney won't let you have only part of your wedding at WDW. They do hold nonwedding Dessert Parties in Epcot, but you wouldn't be able to wear your dress.

You can have a Honeymoon Photographic Session inside one of the parks even if you aren't married in WDW, but not the Magic Kingdom Bridal Portrait session (a.k.a. the one where you get to wear your wedding dress).

The honeymoon shoot takes place during regular park hours and they won't let you wear your gown (this is a big thing for a lot of people is why I keep mentioning it! :rotfl: ). That costs $310 and you get 20 4x6 prints.

Hope this helps! :thumbsup2

P.S. I'm a recent Disney fan too! Nobody can believe I wasn't always this crazy...

lurkyloo did a good job of answering all your questions - I just wanted to welcome you to the board :)

Thank you so much for the info, lurkyloo and thanks for the welcomes!

I'm really looking forward to getting my hands dirty (LOL) and starting the planning. My first plan of action is going to be starting a binder. My first section is going to be called "Wishes" ;) where I am going to list or plot out all of my ideal scenarios.

I'm sure I'll have lots more questions. And I look forward to reading more about everyone else's planning and weddings.

:goodvibes :bride:
