Where the heck are the diaper deals?

I also wrote this on the budget board, but maybe it's better here. Is it just me or does it seem like the diaper deals have really dried up? Used to be able to have a stock of plenty of diapers, but for the past couple of months, I literally go from bag to bag, trying to hold out for deals that don't seem to be coming.

Thankfully, I still have about 10 containers of wipes from the last Walgreen's deal, but that was back in October, I think and I haven't seen anything good there either.

Am I right or can you tell me what I'm missing? It's really stressing me out! Time for me to get my almost two year old out of those diapers!

Well, we've just started stocking up for Baby Boy due in early May, but I thought we got a good deal today. I had a coupon from the newspaper that I could swear was for $2 off any size pampers, but apparently is was for $3 off. Base price for 56 size 1 diapers was $8.99, which took the per diaper cost to around 10.9 cents. I'm new to all of this, so I'm not sure if that's a great deal, but my Baby Bargains book indicated about 13-14 cents was the typical better price, so I was pretty happy with 10.9.

Do you have a Costco/Sam's club/Bj's around?

We switched to the Costco brand diapers and wipes and I think they're about the same quality as the Name Brand (although I did just switch back to Pampers Cruisers for DS while he's between sizes of the Costco brand).

I use cloth diapers for my kids so I'm not really sure on pricing, but I know my cousin goes to BJ's and tries to stack a BJ's coupon with a manufacturer's coupon as well. When she can't do that she buys the BJ's brand. She has three in diapers right now and with not a lot of money to spare I assume she is finding the best deals possible

Bj's has good prices especially with coupons; however, there really hasn't been any diaper coupons in the Sunday paper recently.

I agree that the costco are the best deal. however you can use any coupon for the same brand ie huggies has 3 dollar off the natural diapers but you can you it for regular huggies also you can you them on wipes I get the 3 dollar and use them on wipes cause the best deal is still costco on diapers.

I agree that even getting a coupon is rare these days. They used to come with the Pampers. Not anymore. I will only use pampers because we have tried other brands and they do not fit my kids right. I find it quite annoying to not be able to at least find a coupon. They keep giving coupons for tide which I don't even use.

I agree with a PP... do you have a warehouse store close? We got a memberships to Sams JUST for the diapers. Granted the case prices have gone up about $4/case over the last 3 years, but still, we have saved TONS on buying the cases there vs. using coupons and waiting for deals. We would get a case of Huggies size 1-2 (I think about 260/case) for $39. The 3's are cases of about 200 for the same price.

We get our wipes there too and the cost for a case of Member's Mark wipes is way better than the name brands plus they're made with more cotton than the others. I think we get 720 wipes for around $14. Sometimes, they'll have good deals on formula too, you just have to watch for it. (The formula is getting close to date and we've seen 36 oz cans of Enfamil for $25).

It may be worth a look. Supposedly the economy is on the rebound so everyone is starting to cut the coupons back.

I know that in the past when the coupons have been far and few between or really low (ie. save $.75 on diapers), I have emailed the company and asked for coupons. I flat out told them that I was considering switching brands as their coupons were not as good as their competitors. A few weeks later I received a nice envelope full of diaper and wipe coupons, and they were the $2.50 off ones :cool1:

Over the last month I have seen big boxes of diapers on sale in the circulars for Target. While I'm tempted to stock up now, trying to predict the size that baby #3 will be in very long is too challenging as none of my kids were consistent.
