Don't know yet what time we will get there as we haven't booked our flight yet. It will be DH's birthday the day we arrive. Definitely will try to get a morning flight and be there by midafternoon. We are doing HDD at 9:30. MK closes early that day because Night of Joy is that night. We are staying at CSR. I had originally thought we could go to MK, get his birthday pin at City Hall, eat at Crystal Palace or LTT, hang out in the park, and then go to HDD. But since MK closes early, that won't work. We could still do that but then we'd have to go back to CSR and then come back for HDD.

We are going to have to eat something somewhere since dinner/HDD won't be unti 9:30. But obviously don't want to stuff ourselves and then go to HDD 4 hours later...I am thinking of eating at 4-ish.

So I guess basically I want to know what to do/where to eat in the afternoon and evening before we go to HDD. Would you just hang out at your hotel pool and then go to HDD at 9:30? I would go to Epcot for a few hours and eat dinner and have some drinks in the World, but can't get too crazy with that as we'll have our 17, 19 and 22-year-old kids with us. I mean, we can have a couple of drinks but I wouldn't want to try drinking around the World since our kids will be with us and also because we'll be heading for HDD later.

Do you think Epcot is a good idea for a few hours, or something else? Maybe dinner at the Boardwalk at Big River or ESPN? (Spoodles isn't my DH's kind of place...may try it, but not on his birthday).

What would you do between arrival and HDD at 9:30 if you were arriving on your spouse's birthday?

EPCOT is always fun to walk around the World Showcase - you could certainly get fish and chips at the Rose and Crown or perhaps an open faced sandwich at Norway, stir fry at Yakatori, etc ---there are so many options for light but tasty items that would hold you over until dinner
Being at the World Showcase always makes me feel like I am at Disney and doing something special (especially since MK is closing early that day so that is now an option)
The other idea would be to sit by the pool and enjoy something from the food court and just relax, then shower and head over to HDD

Hope you have fun and your spouse has a wonderful birthday!
