My kids spent the night at Nana's last night. They went to church this morning, then out to a buffet brunch at 1:00pm, then came home.

At approx 4:00, my husband, who is on the couch watching a soccer game, asked if I was going to make dinner. "Yes, Im going to make dinner, but not now...at 6:00". He said he was hungry now because he hadnt had anything to eat all day.

So I went to the kitchen, made a chicken club sandwich (grilled chix breast, microwaved some bacon, lettuce, tom, mayo) and brought it to the family room on a plate with a can of soda and napkin.

He gave me a look like I just gave him poop on a plate and said "Is this dinner?"

Me.."No, its not dinner. I told you Ill make dinner at 6, this is your lunch to hold you over until dinner"

He crinkled his nose in disgust and reached for the plate. :headache: I said "Forget it, if you dont like it, you dont have to eat it". I brought the plate back to the kitchen and came upstairs to the computer.

Any advice on where I should put the sandwich?? !!!!

Oh yeah, but not dis appropriate. ;)

Eat it! And then say make your own dinner.
I had my own little hissy fit. My oldest and dh went to the movies- while I "got" to take the youngest 3 to the living history museum *which was full of MUD. Got home everyone in the bath. One at a time since they were all FILTHY!
The boys walk in laughing having had a great old time at the movies. And say "what's for dinner?"

I told them whatever they decide to make for me!

I would have eaten it and then wondered why I can't seem to lose any weight!

Did he ask you to make that sandwich for him, or did he just say he was hungry? Stick it in the fridge and put a post it with "dinner" on it!

LOL. I think you KNOW where to put it ;).

I probably would've just ate it though. It sounds pretty good.

I would not even think of doing anything gross with the sandwich, because it sounds delicious! I'd even make another so the kids and I would be covered for dinner. I would assume that my husband had decided he wanted to be in charge of his own meals now.

The mods won't let me say where it should go.

I'll tell you what, that would be the last time I ever made him a sandwich, unless he apologizes profusely!

Uh, I wouldn't have made it in the first place. :confused3

But since it is already made, eat it and he's on his own for supper. :thumbsup2

You aren't the maid/cook. :goodvibes

I guess I don't understand why your DH hadn't eaten all day? Is he an invalid who is unable to get himself food when he's hungry?

My husband is a grown, healthy man. He would never reach 4:00 without having eaten all day.

If I were you, I'd put the sandwich in the fridge, and get it back out at 6:00 to give to that ungrateful man for his dinner. Then I'd leave him with the kids and treat myself to a nice dinner in a restaurant. Sounds like you need a little waiting ON for once.

Sounds like my FIL. He would literally go hungry if my MIL did not make him three meals a day. He's as dependent as a three year old. Honestly, how can someone live like that.

One time when my sister made dinner for my BIL, he complained about what she made, so she took his whole plate and dumped it in the trash. Don't know if he ever complained after that! They've been married 37 years, so maybe not. LOL

His shoes. Seriously, DH was leaving bottle caps all over the house - I'd even find them in the laundry. I was venting to a friend, and she told me to put them in his shoes. Sure enough, no more caps around! :lmao:

Not really sure what to say here, but I bet if you went downstairs, the sandwich would be gone!! there's no way my DH would let that yummy sandwich go uneaten.

The front seat of his car -- this way it has time to ferment overnight. ;)

I did the same thing to DS when he was about 14 yo. It seemed that every night for a week he was turning his nose up at whatever I chose to make for dinner so... into the trash went a very nice meal that I made specifically hoping to please him. He never said anything again:rotfl:
