I'm seriously considering asking my girlfriend of two years to marry me at DisneyWorld, it just feels right. The only ideas I have so far is to do it on the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage during Wish. Or on our own Private Boat during Wish, watching the fireworks of course.

Have any of you ever been on these, would it be romantic or surprising at all?
What it be better to be closer to the castle for Wish instead? Also if you have any other ideas I am all ears!

Thanks!
It will be my first time at DisneyWorld! Her 3rd i think

Your ideas sound great and you know her the best. Getting engaged at Disney is the best.

My only thought is if she isn't shy you could ask while you were getting your phtos taken in front of the castle. Let the photo pass person know and then you would have a picture of the moment. Some girls may not like this as it is to public.

happy engagement

Are you planning any dinners? Maybe go to Cali Grille during Wishes and do it there. It should be a nice quiet dinner and you'd have a front row seat to the fireworks?? You'd have champagne on hand too if you talk to the CMs ahead of time...

Thanks Amyy! No kwitcher I haven't planned any dinners but that sounds like a good idea. I've read that you can plan a dinner on the private boat if I got it. That would be nice but I just don't know how Wish looks from the water.

Only reason I suggested a restaurant is b/c I get seasick! :rotfl2:

Good luck with your choice!

Hi:

I guess it sort of depends.

Do you want it to be sort of a private moment or something that public in the general area can see?

If out in plain site then I would consider right in front of the Castle... near the end of Main Street. If you work it right you might be able to get a Disney Photopass photographer to catch the moment.

If you prefer something a little more private then consider:
A Wishes Cruise
Dinner at Victoria & Alberts
California Grill - During the Fireworks... reservation timing is important here.

Good Luck... I'm sure she will love any spot you pick,

Mark

You also might try down in the Rose Garden between Tomorrowland & the Hub (Cindy's castle in the background). It's fairly secluded. There's has been a Photopass Photag there in the past.

... or the Wishing Well at the side of the Castle. No PP photographer there, though.

The private fireworks cruise is a great idea!

We did a private cruise after our Disney wedding and it was definitely something to remember. We rented one of the pontoon boats, but there is also a yacht you can rent (with attendants). You can have a private dinner brought to the pontoon boat (on the yacht they will serve you) or do something like strawberries & champagne.

Before the fireworks they take on a tour around the lagoon for about 45 mins, so hopefully your nerves won't be completely shot by the time your big moment comes. :lmao:

You'll have a great view of the fireworks and the driver of your boat can take pics afterwards. Just be sure to clue everyone in on your surprise before hand.

Best wishes whatever you decide!
