We are the dreaded family of 5. There will be me, my wife, and a daughter age 7, and twin daughters age 4. We want to spend a couple of days in WDW after our Disney Cruise next October 2004. We are planning on only going to the MNSSHP for an evening while we are there and not to any other parks.

Which resort do you suggest we stay for two nights? And why?

We usually stay at a DVC resort since we are members, but want to try something different for a couple of nights.

We are considering the Polynesian, Port Orleans Riverside, and the Beach Club resorts at this time. However, we are open to suggestions if the room will hold all five of us for these two nights.

Thanks.

Bart

Since you are only there for the party, I would suggest the Poly based on the choices you listed.

I would also suggest the Polynesian, because of its close proximity to the Magic Kingdom and being able to hop on the monorail right after the party - very convenient!!!

But, also - since you would just be going to the Party and relaxing at the resort for a couple of days, you may want to check out either the Beach Club or Yacht Club. It may be warm enough for swimming, and the kids would probably love Storm Along Bay. Also, it is so close to the Boardwalk - great for an evening walk, restaurants, renting the bikes, etc. And, who could resist the ice cream shop???

Have fun deciding!!!

If you really want something different go for the FW cabins. While they aren't luxurious suites, they are adorable, cozy little cabins quite suitable & comfy for a family of 5.

There are many activities at the FW campground too. Kinda has that mountain feel with the convenience of being on WDW property:p You can take the boat over to MK for the halloween party and then just kick back and relax or go to the campfire and watch a movie the other night:p Heck I had fun just driving our golf cart around!! You can take the watermice out if you like to stay active or rent some bikes:p

For the 2 days/nights you can find some fun and wind down time at the cabins.

Our kids are 8,5,4- and I'd vote for the Poly- in fact we're going there in 3 weeks! :) I decided on it for three reasons...

1. LOCATION- can't beat the access to monorail and viewing the fireworks from the beach.

2. LARGER ROOMS!- With five- I don't care how small they are- every bit of elbow room helps.

3. Dining/childcare options....'Ohana's is supposedly fun family fare, they have a character breakfast, and the Neverland club is supposed to be the best if you want a couple of hours with your spouse.

ENJOY- I'd love to hear what your family (kids, too!) thought of the cruise! We're looking into that in the next year.

I think any of the deluxe resorts that have the 2 queens and a daybed would be great. We are a family of 6 and we stayed YC concierge last year and it was great. Plenty of room. 2 little ones were under 3 so we could do it and now little one is 1 so we could squeeze 1 or 2 more stays.

Even though you didnt mention the Contemporary Resort I would have to vote for it. It is so much fun for kids with all that is going on there with the monorail, Chef Mickeys, etc. and they have a great arcade also. It is also so close to the MK that you can walk or you always have the monorail- my kids favorite. My kids also loved the wild patterns and colors in the room. The rooms are also huge- more than enough room for our family of 5 and the views are breathtaking from the tower rooms. We watched the fireworks from our balcony every night and also the electric water parade. We had a MK view. :jester:

I vote for the Polynesian because of its proximity to the Magic Kingdom. The fact that it's very close to several other nice resorts doesn't hurt either.
