Where keep Key to World cards

If your kids are young and/or you're planning to stick together, I suggest one adult carry all the cards. We used one lanyard & ID card holder (see lanyard info below). When we would approach the turnstiles, whoever had the cards(me or DH) would take them all out & distribute them- then collect them all on the other side. It is easier for one person to carry them & get fastpasses, too. DH & I took turns wearing the lanyard. Whoever didn't have the lanyard usually had the small backpack we took in. This meant that one parent wasn't stranded with absolutely no money because we kept a little cash in the backpack. Not all of the carts take the kttw card & I wouldn't want to be without cash just in case. A few days when I knew we were going to DTD, I took my debit card with me in the ID holder, too. We also stuck our FPs in the ID holder so they were handy.

LANYARDS: My friend gave us some free lanyards she had gotten from conferences. We only ended up using one of the lanyards & we bought an ID holder at the park for $5. We couldn't find an ID holder before our trip & now I'm finding lots. I would suggest getting a nice one that zips. I saw one the other day in with the ladies' purses that would have worked great because it had a key ring & a zipper on it. The ziploc type ID holder we bought at the park tore up- it split down the side & the ziploc thing came off. I reinforced the next one with packing tape but I highly suggest buying a nicer one at home with a made out of something other than plastic with a real zipper.

Just remember don't put them by the cell phone or digital camera or other credit/debit cards and I think also the DL. This information is somewhere also on another forum but right off the top of my head I can't remember which one. The KTTW cards will get demagnitized and won't work or your other cards won't work.:upsidedow
Wierd! For a long time I was keeping mine inside the silicone case right up against my phone, and nothing happened to it! I'm not saying anyone should risk it, but I didn't know it could potentially cause an issue. Guess I lucked out!

First trip to WDW. Where do you keep you Key to the World cards while in WDW. Will be carrying mine plus kids and maybe DH. I have heard that some people have them in something that hangs around their neck for EMH? What do you suggest - thank you so much.
I bought a clear plastic holder at Disney, and I love it! It ziplocs shut, and is on a clip with a cord that I can pull out so it can be seen, but I don't have to take it out, and then the cord automatically winds it back up. My mom loved mine so much she bought one too! It is great for fastpasses too!

I bought a lanyard at Disney a few years ago. It has a plastic pouch to keep cards in. I use it every trip. I keep my KTTW card, credit card, and driver's license in it.
This didn't work for us! Boo! Every kid had a lanyard that we bought on ebay, but were from WDW, and all the plastic pouches ripped off!

Yhe only time each individual needs their Kttw card is to enter the park, EMH and to enter the room. If you do not have one person hold them it is inconvenient to get fastpasses. It is much easier to hand them out if needed than to collect for fastpass runs.

I have tried many things and will now only use my vera bradley lanyard and zip id case. It holds the KTTW cards, and in the other side, I keep my Disney Visa and reward cards and any other gift cards. It is secure and on ME at all times. I get the fast passes, etc. My kids are too young to go on their own.
Be wary of lanyard pockets that don't zip- I once lost a photopass ( I eventually found it tracing my path) and the ziplock type plastic zippers break too easily.

Agreed! The only time this was a fail for us was when we got separated from our group and had nothing to buy drinks with. I forgot about the free cups of water while in that situation. We were so thirsty! My phone had died too, and when someone saw me fiddling with my phone they loaned me theirs. Don't ya know I couldn't remember anyone's phone numbers?????!!!! Argh.

I also use the Vera Bradley mini hipster to carry my KTTW card. This year was the first time that I used it and I will forever carry my personal things this way. It's small enough that it doesn't get in the way, and I feel very secure that my things are right beside me. It held my camera, my daughters camera a small coin purse, and a couple of other small items. It's a good choice.
I also agree with pp that you should take a photo of the back of your keys in case you lose your keys. Take the picture with your phone AND your camera, just in case you should lose either of those too, you have a back up.

The lanyard with the plastic pouch is the way to go mainly because if you get a photo pass, you can keep it in the pouch and the photographers can scan it right through the plastic so you don't have to keep digging around and taking it out of your pocket or wallet. Enjoy your trip

I think I might've said this before, I'm not sure, but we used the lanyards with the plastic pouch, and the pouches kept ripping off! Each of my kids and my niece and nephew all had their "In case of emergency" numbers in theirs. I think we lost all but one! I was pretty upset. At least they had the contact numbers, so people were able to call us when they found them. Argh. Here I thought I was so organized and we ended up running around trying to reclaim our lost pouches! I may try and find a way to reinforce the plastic to keep it from ripping next time.

I used my wristlet from 31 Gifts. It held all 5 of our KTTW cards, driver's license, credit cards, cash and my phone. Instead of wearing it on my wrist I looped it through the belt loop on my shorts. It was very accessible and held everything I needed. Plus cute patterns!
