I haven't been to DL in 27 years and it is time for my sister and I to narrow down the list of places to eat for our trip. Help!

The only decision we have made is Nappa Rose as I understand that it is not to be missed.

Where is your favorite place to eat and why is it your fav?

Blue Bayou - we love seating at the waterside and having flashing wars with the riders

Of course the Monte Cristo is not to be missed (DH and I share one):thumbsup2

Blue Bayou for the atmosphere is wonderful! The ambiance of the place is truely amazing and one of a kind! You shouldn't miss it.

Cafe Orleans is another nice little place to sit and relax. (Be sure to try out the Mint Julep -- it's a wonderful drink!)

Wine Country Trattoria in California Adventure is a great place to eat as well. It's just like being in Sonoma County!

For quick food we like R.R. back by space mountain and the Wharf in DCA for Broc. and Ch. soup in a fresh made sourdough bread bowl.

For a nicer more $$$ meal we like Napa, Steakhouse 55 (which I also heard has a great breakfast), & Naples (in Downtown D.).

Carnation cafe, Plaza Inn & Blue Bayou!!!

We always eat at Hungry Bear, it doesn't have the best food but our boys really enjoy the atmosphere. They love waving at the boats.

Love the Monte Cristo.....Blue Bayou definitely wins for atmosphere, sitting and watching the POC go by, but it's awfully pricey for every trip for us, so we get our Monte Cristo fix (and throw in some Pomme Frites) at Cafe Orleans (also much easier to get a last minute reservation than BB).

Another "must" each trip is the soup bowls at the Wharf....but we get the soup in a bowl and the bread intact so we can eat some with lunch and carry the rest in our pocket to munch the rest of the day.

Carnation Cafe....if not for a meal (chicken pot pie is excellent...Oscar's breakfast is great and if Oscar is around it's a high point!) but some days we just stop by for a Matterhorn, lol.

Taste Pilots Grill for the Fully Loaded fries as a snack to share.

Favorite dining "spot" right on the water at Blue Bayou!

Favorite can't miss food Carnation Cafe for baked potato soup...The best!

Newest favorite Whitewater Snacks at the Grand Californian for the Nachos really really good and a great place to get a quick bite...also they have a multitude of drinks in bottles for your backpack...I hate getting fountain drinks at the park because you just end up throwing them away when you get on a ride.

Favorite character meal Mickey's surf's up buffet breakfast at the Paradise Pier Hotel really fun and great chorizo & eggs.

Breakfast at Carnation Cafe is one of my favorites. Love to sit, eat yummy food, and people watch.

If you're doing Napa, I highly recommend reserving the chef's counter.

I'd have to say my favorite is the Big Thunder Ranch Barbecue, as I've actually eaten there 40 times since it opened April 2, 2009 (my first time was April 3), and 40 1/3 if you count the time I just went there for dessert with some friends.

I must disclose that I now frequently work there, so if you want to take my opinion with a grain of salt, feel free.

My #1 spot to eat in the whole resort is Cafe Orleans! The three cheese Monte Cristo is not to be missed. It's huge so make sure you share with someone!

We also like Plaza Inn and Rancho del Zocalo in DL, Ariel's Grotto and Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA, Rainforest Cafe and Tortilla Joe's in DTD and White Water Snacks at the Grand Californian!

A park bench near the partners statue with a corn dog in hand while watching the fireworks! :thumbsup2

Thank you one and all. :cool1: What wonderful suggestions. I'm going now to check out the menus for all of your suggestions. This is the best part of planning.

Has anyone been to StoryTellers Cafe?

We never go without having breakfast as least once at Carnation Cafe. The food is always good, there's plenty of it and we love the atmosphere and people watching.

We were there last July stopped at Disney for a few days on our move down here. In the park we always ended up at tomorrowland cafe for the kids because they had some Star Wars show one son had to see. Outside the park I love California Pizza Kitchen and Bubba Gumps! This next trip I want to check out Village Haus and Rainforest Cafe.

I think the loaded potato soup at carnation cafe and the gumbo at Cafe Orleans is better than the soup/bread bowls.

I also like Cafe Orleans over Blue Bayou. I get a bowl of gumbo and split a 3 cheese monte cristo.

Pass up the fritters at disneyland (fried raw dough balls) and go for the beignets (yummy!) at Brennens Jazz kitchen in Downtown disney.

There is a coffe shop, across the street from blue ribbon bakery. Buy a cup of coffee there and save your receipt. You can go back all day for refills.

THe BBQ bacon cheese burgers at tomorrow land terrace are also good.

Favorites....

Character breakfast...Minnie's at the Plaza Inn

Table Service...Cafe Orleans

Counter Service...Pacific Wharf Cafe

Favorite Snack...tie...Dole Whips at the Tiki Room or Bengal BBQ skewers.
