Where is Whispering Canyon?

I have read alot of things about this place. I think it would be fun to take the family there not telling what they do. I am a Disney newbie. Where is WC at? Will I need an AR for a tuesday night in October?

It is in Wilderness Lodge and open to the lobby.

It cannot hurt to have made a reservation. However, knowing the staff at WCC if you do not show up they will track you down and make you ride "It's A Small World" 20 times without getting off.
