" Where is the Ocean?" LOL

My friend overheard a woman at the Beach Club yelling at a CM because they had paid for a water view and They could NOT see the ocean from their room and wanted to be moved right away!! The poor CM was trying to give the woman a geography lesson!!! LOL " Miss we are in the middle of Florida, the ocean is at least an hour away" LOL

I used to work in tourist area, and there was a nightly event around sunset with street performers, etc. Almost daily I was asked if there was going to be a sunset that day!?

Too funny! People assume that ALL of Florida is on the coast. I have heard the NASA/Nassua thing before. We lived in Jacksonville, Fl. for many years and the next county north of there is Nassua county. Many times I met folks who thought NASA was there!!! Will there be a sunset today??? That one takes the cake . Reminds me of when Jay Leno asks people simple questions and they as so DUMB .

That is so funny. It reminds me of an argument I overheard that I thought was going to end in blows. I was in Oregon for work with some people who had never been out of the holler and one guy was adamant that Oregon was not on the ocean. He just couldn't believe someone would try to pull his leg like that!

Reminds me of a tourist I talked to a couple of years ago -she said they came to Canada to see the igloo's and couldn't find any -IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF JULY AND IN NOVA SCOTIA!!!

I work at a university, and you'd be surprised by the things we hear...

One student got into a discussion with a secretary about the forests in Washington. Student didn't think think she was correct, because he's been there--nope, no trees in Washington, at least not a lot. Secretary has a puzzled look on her face...then says, "Oh...you mean Washington, DC. I was talking about the state of Washington. Student replies, "you mean there's a difference?"

Dh's office is also a call center for a car loan company. He heard an employee arguing with a customer from New Mexico saying "I am NOT supposed to have to take calls from out of the country!" I'll bet people from NM get that often. So sad, the state of our educational system.
