Where is the In N out near DL?

Born and raised in California, please don't kill me but I can't stand In N Out. I love me a good burger, but every one I have ever gotten from there has been red in the center and not very tasty... let's not even get started on the greasy limp fries. Not one person in my family likes it, and I don't even know a friend that really likes it. 110% overrated!

I recently tried "Fat Burger" in Vegas and that was the best burger from a fast food joint I've ever had.

Bob's Big Boy still exists out there? I remember driving up I95 at least 3 times a year from DC to Boston with my grandmother. It makes me smile just thinking about it. I might have to try to get there on my way back to the airport. It would be like tasting my childhood again :) Do you have Roy Rogers out there too?

In N Out are terrific, Five Guys is good but my favorite burger is the slowly expanding Shake Shack, which has a few locations in NYC, 1 in Miami and a few in DC...

I am from DC where Five Guys started. I have heard that In n Out is ranked number 2 on the best fast food burgers. So I was going to have the driver stop somewhere on the way from LAX to DLH to grab a taste.

Five Guys is great, but I prefer In-N-Out.

Hmmm... maybe it is worth taking a taxi. My DH really wants to try it.

Never heard of it. What makes it so good?

First let me warn you, it is NOT fast food. It is good food pretty quick. What makes it so good is that they don't use frozen meat and fries. There are actually people there cutting potatoes and throwing them in the frier. You can watch, it's fun.

It is just way better than all that processed stuff you find in most fast food places.

Oh, if you like a crispier fry, be sure to say so.

Actually what I look forward to when going to SoCal is Bob's Big Boy. I miss Bob's up here in the north. They're not as good as they used to be though.

Now, where is THIS??? My absolute favorite as a kid with my grandparents! Would love to go there. Do they have a Bob??

I admit I'm not really a burger person (unless I make them with local grass fed beef) but I live in the DC area and HATE 5 Guys-- the burgers are sorta OK but the fries are so incredibly greasy that the bag they put them in is so soaked you can hardly touch it.

Will be at DL in two weeks and hope to try in N out since you all recommend it.

I soooo miss Bob's Big Boy--I miss his smiling face. There was one down the street from us but it's been gone for 20 years. Don't remember much about the food but just have fond memories from when we were young broke newlyweds and that was 'dining out'.

Someone mentioned Roy Rogers...that was always my favorite fast food! While in college I worked a summer as a 'Ranch Hand' back when they made you wear a red cowboy hat and gingham skirt. lol Chicken is so much better at RR than KFC. There are still a few scattered around the area but I'd have to drive almost an hour.

Now you guys have my mouth watering...

We're coming from LAX. I thought there was one pretty close to the resort in Anaheim that we went to about 5 years ago. I don't think we want to get off the freeway and get back on if possible.

I believe there is one just north of LAX. On our last trip to DL, that was our VERY last stop before returning the rental car.

Google maps should help with directions! I already found the In and Out closest to SNA! That will be my first stop after getting the rental car!

Okay I'm going to have to Google this now. I have never heard of this! I live 5 minutes from (the late) Roy Rogers' house and where the museum used to be since 1967. He even used to go into my dad's store all the time. I didn't know there was a restaurant named after him. LOL

We love In N Out but we were in New York in April and tried Shake Shack and let me just say as soon as I had that I said "OMG this place is better than In N Out!" :cloud9:

I cant wait to go to New York to eat there again!

Hopefully they will make one in Ca since I dont know when I will make it to New York again.

I live northeast of ATL, but grew up in the DC area. I'm headed up there sometime early spring and I am going to have to try Shake Shack!!

There are two Roy Rogers up in DC that are still open (that I try to get to when I am up there) in Germantown and Gaithersburg

Yes, but when you are stuck with McD's, Wendy's, Burger King, and A&W, which are barely edible, the closest thing we have to a halfway decent burger joint is Fat Burger. To us IN-N-OUT the best burger we've ever had. So the first thing we do when heading to visit DL is stop there for lunch before checking in at our hotel.

In wider DC area, there's also a Roy Rogers in Leesburg, VA and Frederick, MD.

I love Fatburger. I think they are way better than in and out.

Okay...no five guys either. Hey I live in Canada. We have nothing:confused3. We just got our first IHOP in Edmonton(pop.over a million people) You Americans are so lucky. Don't you realize that Canadians cross the border so much because you guys have all the good stuff! First thing I do when I get to the US is grocery shop.I love your grocery stores.
