And one year they held it at Coronado Springs (I think that was 2007). That one really ticked me off because there wasn't even a DVC resort near it (I know-I get ticked off at little things). What I wondered about was the date. I remember at the one DVC Annual Meeting, a man got up and was very upset with DVC for changing the "traditional" date of the Annual Meeting. I remember he said that the meeting had ALWAYS been held the Wednesday after Thanksgiving. The DVC rep (was it Jim Lewis? It was in 2003) agreed and didn't have any answer as to why they changed the "traditional" date that I remember. I can't help but wonder if the man's upset again this year.
I agree they make it very difficult to find. Last year they announced the time and date on a pull-down menu on the DVC website with a sign-up. I wouldn't have known if I didn't use the Dis boards. When it gets closer to December keep checking the member special events on the DVC website they will eventually try to sneek it in.
Another mystery. I've been to 3 Annual Meetings, all in 3 different places and all with 3 different start times. One started at 11:00, then 1:00, then 2:00.
Last year the DVD Board meeting started at 1:00pm followed immediately by the DVC Board meeting. There was a break before the member meeting began. I wish they had just moved to the member meeting immediately. I don't think the member meeting was finished until about 5pm - much longer than in the past.
I think it is a mystery because DVC is not willing to pay Disney for a space in advance. They basically end up using whatever is open, at whatever time is open, hence the reason it is always last minute before we find out when and where.
We are not going to the meeting (I think) but that is our MK day and we are staying at BLT, do you think that meeting will bring more crowds to MK that day?
