Trying to figure out how far the cruise port is to the airport in Vancouver. How long does it take to get there? Trying to plan the flights to go out and don't want to cut it too close. How is the Vancouver airport as far as lines and ease of getting around?

Canada Place (where the ship is) is in the red circle. The airport is the red star.

Depending on how you get there, it's not that difficult. We prefer ship transfers. But the sky train goes there, also, if you don't mind lugging your bags along.

It can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours to get between the two, depending on what's going on around town at the time you are trying to get between them. It's about 9 miles.

When I took the Magical Express I remember it taking roughly 45 minutes. Traffic was pretty rough, reminded me of driving in San Francisco, but cleaner

If you are flying from Vancouver to a U.S. city, you'll go through customs in Vancouver--so make sure you add in time for that. We were flying to Toronto and then to Boston, so customs was in Toronto for us, took about an hour there to go through both customs and US security. I think they normally suggest getting a flight after Noon on debarkation day.

Via Canada Line you will get there in less than 30 minutes. Driving - either with DCL transfers, another transfer company or cab - it would probably take 45 minutes or so depending on traffic (which STINKS in the downtown core, but starts moving once you are over the Granville St or Burrard St bridge). I vote for Canada Line. We live in the 'burbs so instead of driving downtown and parking (no thanks) we take sky train downtown. Last year we parked at the airport and took Canada Line as we were taking the repo cruise from Vancouver to San Diego and flew back home. Next year to Alaska we'll take a cab to the nearest skytrain station and take that downtown. I detest driving in downtown Vancouver (even if I'm the passenger lol). And we're travelling with two kids just to give you an idea of how much I don't want to drive downtown.

The Canada Line requires an extra 10 minutes to walk and visit the ticket machine. I prefer the $35 ($25 USD) taxi carload when I have cruise luggage to the airport. Cab ride is about 30 minutes.
