I think we found a good house, its about 10 minutes away. So we will for sure need a car, but we cant afford a lot. Thanks for your help! Also, how much does parking cost?

Try code OOAG on Dollar. It came from mousesavers and I got it from someone on the boards. I ended up with a rate of $268 with tax for a minivan for 1 one week this coming June!

I have never used priceline soo can't comment on it except to say WOW that is a great deal!

We usually use Dollar and play around with the discount codes found on mousavers.com

I have had gd luck with the CORPORATE CODE (not a promo code) oi1054

you would need to print an Orlando Magicard(free) just in case they ask to see it - but they have never asked me.

Also some of your gold and especially platinum credit cards cover the add on insurance automatically if you use it to rent the car(so you don't pay it its covered under the terms of some credit cards) Also your regular car insurance MAY cover this when you use a rental - BUT PLEASE CHECK with your credit card company or insurance company for DETAILS so you will not have any surprises if something should happen(damage to car)

Okay thats all I have to say

My favorite company to rent from is Dollar because they are at the airport and I have had to wait the least amount of time for them compared to Avis and Budget. They have not had the least expensive prices though for the last two trips, so we haven't used them lately though. We have found Thrifty to have the best prices for the past two year. They are off property, but their shuttle service is quick. On this last trip, I accidentally left a piece of luggage sitting on the curb at the airport. We didn't notice until we got to Thrifty. Our driver, Louis, was so good. He got me back to the airport in no time and the bag was right there.

We had Alamo, which I didn't necessarily love, but the rate was well worth it. The other nice thing about Priceline is that they are reasonably accomodating if you have a change in plans that you cannot help. when we lost our Skybus flight, Priceling actually refunded our car rental and the hotel rental.

I used Priceline for car rental last trip ... It is now my first choice ... if it available at my chosen destination ... I paid $11.00 a day @ MCO ... for a mid size / intermediate ... Someday I will consider a Priceline Hotel ... But I will probably never do Priceline for Airfare ... :rolleyes1

We just got $228 from Dollar for a Premium class - Chrysler Pacifica. It was definitely the lowest we'd seen so far. I was on the SW site after booking our airfare & searched on all rental places. Then I hit the button to add codes & added a discount code from the Mousesavers site for each company. That popped up as the best rate so we took it.

Good luck, I have seen all kinds of prices, it's definitely worth taking some time to plug in a bunch of codes for different places.

Try checking out Mousesavers.

Also, if you have a Costco card, you can go on their website, then click Travel at the top, and try their car rental discounts.

I got a midsize (Emerald Aisle) from National for a week spring break (March 14th to 20th) for $203 total including taxes. I used the code from Costco combined with National's $30 off a week coupon on National's website.

I prefer National as you just go pick out you car, load it up and stop at the exit to go. It is so quick. I've had to wait in a long line in Alamo (years ago, now they have a quick service as well).

This was about the best we could get, I'd love to get better and may try Priceline the day before we travel. I love convenience, but saving money is better! I've gotten a car for $10 in St. Louis with priceline before, so we'll see. I've used them for hotels and rental cars in St. Louis and been very pleased!

*** Just saw, you are talking Disneyworld in Orlando or Disneyland? ***

I got mine from Dollar through BJ's website. April 3-9 for $319.23 out the door including all taxes and all crappy fees. Not sure if they ask for BJ's membership when pick-up front but make sure you have it with you. Let me know if you need the code and I will pm you unless they allow me to post it.

We have a membership...it would be great to save a few extra dollars!!
Thanks!

Go to the website bjsdotcom and go to the travel tab from there click on the car option then it will give you multiple coupons and the link for every car rental. Just play around a little bit until you came out with thwe lowest rental. For some reason the one that I use doesn't seem to work again it might be one time use per member or reservation but it saves me tons of money.

I will check it out this week! Need the car next week so it's time to book!
Thanks again,
Tim

I tried priceline and got a full size car for $19 a day for 8 days(National car rental).Saved about $30 over the lowest price I found at Budget.only wish I had tried to go lower.

Just wondering about the Dollar code. I also used OOAG and wondered what kind of code it actually was. Does anyone know this? Just didn't want to get to the airport and realize I need something I don't have to get that rate.

FYI, parking is $12.00/day at all of the WDW parks. You pay the fee once per day; just keep the parking tag they give you when you pay on your dashboard, and if you drive to a different park that day you're covered and don't have to pay again.

We have used Alamo for our last 3 trips. We typically reserve in advance, but I check the week before we leave for their last minute specials. They have always has one so I cancel my first ressie and book the new one at no charge. I then use the Costco $25 off weekly rental discount coupon. My target before taxes for the week is $190 for a mid-size SUV. We usually take the trail blazer or highlander. With taxes and fees for the week we usually come in around $250.

To avoid lines, hubby goes over to rent the car while I wait for the luggage with the kiddos. Nice thing about Alamo, you don't have to get on a shuttle bus you just walk out to the parking lot with your luggage and hop in a vehicle and off you go.
