What is the best room/location at Port Orleans Riverside. It will be me, my hubby and our 2 children, ages 12 & 10. If you can provide any pictures from the POR resort and any feedback/opinions would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to make up our mind and book here very soon. Thanks for your help :)

We stayed in Parterre Place this past weekend and it was great!!! It was on the river and close to everything. I think this must be the closest we could have been to the busses, dining, etc. I had booked us as river view and asked to stay in one of the mansions, which are MUCH bigger than I expected. We lucked out on our room!!! It was perfect!!!

The closest building to the Main Building is number 14 in Alligator Bayou. The closest building to the pool is Magnolia Terrace in Magnolia Bend. There are 4bus stops at this resort so a bus stop is relatively close by no matter what section you're in.

We stayed in bldg. 28 (not by choice, though) back in 5/2005 and I found it to be not very close to the main bldg or any bus stop. We're returning in a month and I've requested either bldg 90 or 95 in Magnolia Bend. I'm hoping those are good locations (i.e. close to food court, bus stop and parking lot). We like the looks of the Magnolia Bend buildings better than Alligator Bayou. But that is just our taste.

we were in building 39. i had requested a water view. we couldn't hear any cars, the pool and laundry were right outside out room door. it was a hike to the food court, maybe 10 mins, but about 5 minute walk to the bus stop. i liked the isolation and the kids swam every day for hours in the heated pool. i was thrilled to find out the f ood court had to go containers. the night of the redskins game, we stayed in, let the kids swim for hours, and we got to watch the game in peace while eating dinner. i would definatly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to be able to get away. you would never even know that you are in the middle of all the hustle of WDW.

Had to subscribe to this thread. Considering POR for my upcoming trip.

We stayed in Magnolia Terrace in the mansion section. We did not have any preferences listed and were just randomly assigned to this location. It was quite nice - just a few minutes to the main building and a few minutes to the bus stop. Our bus stop was the second to last stop in POR - we only had to stand on a bus once, the people who got on the bus at the Main Building had to stand a lot and their stop was MUCH more crowded. I would definately stay in this section again.

I was wondering the same thing. We have requested the mansions but I have no idea what location to request. We want something close to a quiet pool and not too far from the main building. We will have a car so the bus stop isn't a priority.
