I tried doing a search and nothing came up so sorry if this has been discussed before.

We have just decided to head out to WDW Thanksgiving week. Yes, I know it will be crowded but we were there last year at the same time and loved it and this is the best time we can go.

Anyway, I did not think I would be able to get reservations anywhere for Thanksgiving day at this late date but I called this morning and was actually able to get two. I am not going to keep both but I made both because I want to go home and discuss it with the other people going (party of 4 - all adults).

I was able to get a 2:10 reservation at the Grand Floridian Cafe. We have eaten there before and love the GF so this would be a great place. We love the tree and gingerbread house so this would be a great excuse to visit the resort. The menu states "Chef's selection traditional Thanksgiving feast as well as regular menu items".

The other place I was able to get was the Yacht Club Galley at the Yacht Club Resort at 2:30. Their menu states "Traditional New England Thanksgiving Buffet Feast".

Does anyone have any idea which of these two would be a better place to eat? The GF sounds great but I would imagine this is a plated meal. A buffet might be better for Thanksgiving. Nothing like seconds on turkey and stuffing.

Thanks,
Linda

While we visit WDW quite a bit, this will be our first time during Thanksgiving. I'm glad you enjoy it then. We're really looking forward to it. We are having Thanksgiving Dinner at Trail's End. At first I booked the meal at the Brown Derby, but we felt that the atmosphere at Fort Wilderness made it feel more like Thanksgiving.

I was going over the offerings again last night and came across Trails End and was considering that place also. I might try giving WDW a call this morning to see if that was available also. It will be me and my boyfriend (in our late 40's) and both our fathers (in their 80's). My dad like Disney and would enjoy a Disney themed place. My boyfriends dad lives in Orlando and is not as big a Disney fan as we are. He always says about our love of 'Ohana - why spend so much money for their food - we have a good buffet right down the block for $9.99. He just doesn't get the spending money on the Disney experience.

We always host Thanksgiving dinner at our house, so it will be odd not having it this year. However, the good news is that most of the family will be joining us in Disney for Thanksgiving. There will be eleven of us total (my family of five, my husbands parents, my parents, my brother and his girlfriend) so I have made arrangements for dinner at the Concourse Steakhouse. Of course, my husband has already said he's not sure he can eat TURKEY at the steakhouse...we love CS so he may end up having steak for Thanksgiving.

We are eating at Whispering Canyon Cafe at 1:40pm for Thanksgiving dinner. 27 People total. I can't wait. If you haven't already join the official Thanksgiving list in my sig!
