Basically anywhere where people think it's ok to drink lager at 10am

Ibiza (woke up one morning to find guy in apt above peeing over the balcony & that was 20 years ago!)
Magaluf (popped in to see what it was like when we drove round island stayed all of 5 minutes literally!!)
Faliraki - same as above - stopped car got out witnessed bar fight (it was noon) got straight back in car & drove off (all in under 5 minutes)
Laganas (Zante) - same as above - is it me or does anyone else have a problem with visiting anywhere they need to hose previous nights vomit off pavements
Blackpool - Sorry to anybody who lives there but oh dear!

I'm not well travelled at all. We couldn't afford foreign holidays when I was a child. I did go on a school cruise (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands) when I was 10 and then didn't go abroad again until I went to Majorca with my boyfriend at 18. After that, I didn't get on a plane again until 1992 (when I was 31) for my first trip to Orlando. I've never even been to Paris, although I have been to the Loire Valley. Holidays just weren't my priority. Boy, how times change - I live for them now!

Top 5:

Orlando
Washington DC (a million miles better than New York)
Appalchians/Blue Ridge Mountains
Antigua
Charleston/Savannah

Bottom 3 (even though I can't remember having been anywhere really dreadful):

Nassau (didn't hate it, but it's not what you expect of a Bahaman island - probably wouldn't bother going back)
Miami (again, didn't hate it, but it didn't live up to expectations. We were only there for 24 hours, so I would definitely go back and explore further afield).
Dublin (have been twice and had a great time on both occasions, but I found the City itself a bit grey and drab).

Places I like to visit:

Hawaii (this is currently top of my wish list)
Would love to drive the old Route 66 and take in Tulsa to visit our friend, Susan
New Zealand
Canada (Montreal)
California (Napa Valley, Lake Tahoe)
Tokyo Disney Seas
Hong Kong Disneyland
Sanibel and Captiva
Florida Keys

Like Deb, I'm not all that well travelled - trouble is, now I've discovered Florida, I'm not sure I'm likely to be either. Can't even do a top 5 but top 3 are:

1. Florida (obviously)
2. Austria
3. Lido di Jeselo, Italy

Worst place - San Antonio Bay, Ibiza. I went to Ibiza twice before that, stayed at Santa Eulalia and Portinatx and absolutely loved it but San Antonio Bay was dreadful :sad2:

Places I still want to go:

Australia
Las Vegas
New York
Peru
Malaysia

paris (city)
Barbados

3 - Sol. I can't believe they did nuclear testing in the South Pacific, this would have been much more beneficial.

oh you're so right!!

for those who hate blackpool - the CDS is exactly the same with sun, lovely quaint traditional british sunday roast and fry up shops, burger joints, fish and chips, curry takeaways, John Smiths ale ...... ahhhh! now thats why you go on holidays to a foreign country .... to see all the same crap you get in Blackpool!

I'd disagree with that, I've had some lovely holidays in the CDS in Puerto Banus, Mijas, Calahonda and further inland, Ronda is a very beautiful town with a lot of culture and history.

Best other than WDW;

Grand Canyon
Hilton Head Island
London
Garmisch Partenkirken
York

Worst;

London (its a big place)
Stuttgart
Cental Birmingham

Places I want to visit;

Australia
Antigua

Now Ronda is very beautiful, but I wouldn't call it the CDS as it's far inland. We stayed at a friends villa in Peurto Banus and whilst the villa was great I thought that Puerto Banus was just OK. Whilst there we deceided to check out Benalmadena as I've got a friend who has an apartment there and said we could use it anytime. Never been to it, and neither has anyone of his other friends. It's not the apartment just the town.

The thing is with the CDS is that 30-40 years ago it was the place to be but now it's looking very tired. The CDS's image is best summed up by the programme that's run over the years called ""Something" Up", the something being the age of the people in the show, who have been visited every seven years of their lives. In the last episode "49 Up", it featured the lad who wanted to be a jockey, who I think had retired to the CDS. When asked why he had left England, this chirpy Eastender said along the lines of "East End is full of foreigners. They talk their own language. They Don't mix. Signs are now being written in foreign languages. I feel like a stranger in my own land". The programme then proceeded to show the same man in the CDS. His words there were along the lines of "It's great here, It's full of English. You don't have to learn the language. We've got our own communities. It's just like home". That to me is what the CDS has become, and I can't see why anyone would want to visit the coast. Spain is a fantastic country to visit, if I wanted Blackpool, I'd just take the 40 minute drive to it.

I agree there is some lovely towns and villages in the costa del sol.

does make you giggle that they done see the irony!!

I admit not ALL the CDS is that way - but SO much of it is, it was a complete turn off for me but there are obviously millions who love it - which is great as they're not likely to be going where I am LOL!

Spain in places is awesome - I loved Madrid for example.

Top 5 for me are:
1. Florida
2. Vancouver
3. Las Vegas and Grand Canyon
4. South Africa
5. Los Angeles

Worst:
