... I thought your picture was giving me a headache! I'm researching candiates/judges running for State of Texas offices...want to early vote tomorrow. THAT produces a headache!

The storm was disapointing for me. When we had the back to back hurricanes 7 years ago i was outside watching it all while the eye went over head and believe me when they say it is quiet in the eye IT IS QUIET. When the backside of the storm hits boy does it.

Yet another good reason NOT to live in Florida.

I missed this earlier...I KNOW what the eye of a hurricane looks/feels like..."been there, done that". Of course, it was (I'm thinking jeepwreck would say this) "prehistoric times" when I had that experience. The eye of Hurricane Carla (1961) passed over us (and we're 120+ miles from Galveston). I STILL remember the "stillness" and the backside literally almost blew my Daddy and Uncle Lee away! They'd gone out to secure Grandpa's barn door when the eye passed over and had to crawl back! Still remember it like it happened yesterday!
