Is it some kind of sand artwork or sign? I'm guessing it's the lower case gf, not sure if it's considered the resort logo?

We're thinking this looks like sand, but is it? Could it be something "stamped" into a wall?

It is indeed sand, with the GF logo stamped into it! Any ideas on what this could be?
