there will be six adults & 5 kids, ages 3,7,9,10 & 12... whats a reasonably priced lunch to book in the magic kingdom for august 24th?

thanks!

Try Cosmic Rays, it is really good and the prices aren't that bad. If you go to http://www.wdwig.com and click on dining and then MENUS you can see all the MK restaurant menus and prices as well as the other parks, water parks, and resort menus.

Happy planning! I have tried cosmic rays and we go there every trip for lunch, so I can personally vouch for it.

we like cosmic ray's too. Believe it or not they have the best vegetable soup! tastes like homemade costs 1.99 or so and comes with crackers. I know it's crazy but I always have to get some even when the weather is hot.

At ray's they only have certain things at certain counters. If your group is like ours, no one ever wants to eat the same thing. By the time everyone has exactly what they want you have spent 30 minutes standing in four different lines.

If your group is interested in a character meal ( with the pooh gang) how about the crystal palace? It is cool and relaxing, the atmosphere is fun without being frantic, the prices are pretty reasonable for a buffet, and the selection would surely satisfy everyone in the group- we have found the food to be very good and they kids get their "character fix" so we don't have to wait in lines for autographs when we could be riding RIDES.
Plus, you won't have to stand in lines ordering everyone choices. If you book a late lunch ps I think it may be a little cheaper than dinner. (don't hold me to that) and then you would only have to stop for something light later on.

Have fun on your trip!

I like Pecos Bill's in Frontierland. The burgers aren't too bad and there's a really good condiment bar with everything from fresh produce to grilled onions/mushrooms.

Have 3 adults and the kids secure seating at the Diamond Jim saloon revue in the Crystal Palace then have the other two adults fetch burgers and drinks from pecos Bills. (split double meat burgers for added value).

You get dinner and a show for very little $$

Get floor seats and you might get to be part of the show!

For some reason, we always end up near Pecos Bills for an early lunch. Early, it's a nice quiet, cool place to get a burger and any "fixin'" you could think of.
My favorite tip I learned from these boards, Order a double burger meals and extra buns. You can add extra sides if you need to. On our last trip, DH, DD2, & Me - ordered a Double burger meal, extra bun, 2 large drinks and a kids meal. We had more than enough. And DH is a BIG eater! I know it sounds crazy to order an extra bun, but you are paying for it, they actually have a button on the register for an extra bun.
You can use the fixin's like chili and cheese to spruce up your fries!

If your looking for counter service and you find your tummy rumbling in Frontierland, go to Pecos Bills!
Cosmis Rays is good in Tomorrowland.
Columbia Harbour House in Liberty Square is good too!

I vote for Harbour House, near Frontier Land. Good food, counter service, and it's usually pretty quiet. I just found out they have a dining room upstairs that I've never seen. We'll be checking it out on our next visit.

Try the plaza rest. on Main Street. It is a very nice restaurant and many of you could share meals if you wanted to. Have fun!

I vote for Peco's Bills too! We always eat there w/ our fam of 5. My 6yo dd and I split a burger meal and we are full. My DH gets his own food and my DS's 9 & 3 share a meal (one only eats french fries anyway!) There has got to be a menu link somewhere; anyone know where it is?

We end up at either Peco's Bills or Cosmic Ray's depending on what end of the park we are on. I think Ray's is more "Disneyish" with Ray himself on the keyboards - if you are looking for a destination instead of a burger and a table.

I'd check out the menus and park maps - then don't cross the park for something like lunch (you walk too much already, and it isn't worth the time), find somewhere to eat that is close to where you are (which is why we end up at Bill's or Ray's - no matter where you are off Mainstreet, you aren't far from either Bill's or Ray's.)

we were in MK in july and ate at columbia harbour house. we had the whole upstairs dining room to ourselves. food is really good the upstairs nice and quiet and cool.one of my favorite counter places.

and i think all the recommendations in this thread were good ones... pecos bill's is our fave :)

My first though too is Cosmic Rays.

I've also read about a taco place around Pirates of the Carribean that I wish I would have known about before our last visit. Maybe someone else can share more info on it.

If you want a nice quiet sit down without charactyers go to the Plaza res. It is at the end of Main street off to the right side facing the castle. Make PS because they fill up. The food is really good and it is a nice break from everything. The strawberry chicken salad is great! Or try Harbour house. Clam chowder is good and they have different things like tuna sandwiches or fish and chips instead of the usual burgers. If you sit upstairs you can look out at whats happening around HM.

I'll tell you what my family LOVES to do!!! We take a boat ride from the MK over to Ft. Wilderness. Go to Trails End Buffetria!!! It is SUPER!!! It is all-you-can-eat for about $10.00 pp....and it is the best fried chicken anywhere! There are other items, including soup and chili and more. It is a nice break from the park in the middle of the day, it's air conditioned, and you can visit the horses that work on Main Street at their stables. There is also a neat petting zoo. all this is FREE!!!!! You really should try this! It's always a highlight of our trip. You also can rent the miceboats at the marina there if you like! If you go for dinner, every evening at FW they have an outdoor movie, Chip and Dale are there, and they have a marshmallow roast over an open fire!!! Lots of fun!!! Enjoy!:teeth:

We also usually do Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's - but we go primarily for the cheese sauce on the condiment bar! We are addicted to cheese fries and just love piling it into that basket so they are soaked! Not too healthy, but boy does it make my family happy!
