I am looking for places that won't get snotty if DH and I share. We are on Weight Watchers and nearly every meal is points enough for 2 of us!!

Finzup!

We have never had a problem sharing a meal in any restaurant where we ordered off the menu. You cannot share at buffets or places that serve family style. Don't worry. We have never been made to feel uncomfortable.

We have never had an issue with spliting meals or even ordering off a child's menu. Sometimes I have just had a soup/salad and dessert. We were at WDW in April -- and our DD 17 and 18 either split an adult meal or ordered off the children's menu.

Ditto here. We’ve split a lot of meals. Or ordered just appetizers…… no one ever batted an eye…..

No problem: 50's Prime Time, Sci-Fi, Mitsukoshu Teppenyaki, Kona Cafe

Clearly disappointed and a bit snotty: Jiko

Waiter acted as if he'd never heard of such a thing: Dinner at CRT (This was before the changes to their dinner. I haven't paid enough attention to the new CRT dinner to know if sharing would even be an option anymore.)

In both cases where the waiter had an attitude, I just held my ground and got dinner as I intended.

I've never had a problem. But I've never eaten at a signature dining location before.

Places I've gone:

Alfredos
50s PTC
Teppanyaki
Sci Fi Drive In
Whispering Canyon
Kona Cafe

We've never had a problem...except at Coral Reef - last fall when it used to be a signature dining location - requiring 2 TS credits. The server was snooty and displeased. I waited tables for 6 years in college and always tip the server for the equivalent of two full meals, even if we are only splitting one. Servers shouldn't presume that splitting meals won't work in their favor.

We've never had a problem splitting meals at WDW restaraunts. At counter service we usually ask for an extra plate & divide our food, too. Saves us more room for the mickey bars, popcorn, desserts, etc.!!

Great information. I hate that "oh you are one of those" feelings when I try to split a meal. For instance, at The Cheesecake FActory, portions are HUGE -- large enough for 3 or 4, and my DH and I often get such an attitude when we split -- even though we get separate salads and tip as if we ordered separately (which they won't know until the end, I guess). Thanks!

DF and I have split meals at Rose & Crown at Epcot. I'm talking appetizer, entree AND dessert, and the CMs didn't mind at all!

I have never, ever experienced a problem splitting a meal at Disney (and do it from time to time as some of the portions are just too large for me.)
Last fall we split meals a lot (on the dining plan as well) as I was working on losing weight. My appetite was much smaller and we NEVER had any server treat us poorly because of it. I split a few meals with my husband on a recent trip as well with no issues.
The only place you cannot split a meal is at a buffet, or character dining plated food location.

 Split-ting Me-al? Split-ting Me-al? Explain this Split-ting Me-al? That does not compute! ;)

How about splitting at the signature restaurants - Cali Grill in particular. We would like to eat there but DD and I tend to have small appetites and would be wasting a lot of food. We would have 2 meals for 3 people. Has anyone done this? :confused3
