Well, our 10+ year old recorder finally gave up and we will be out looking for a new camcorder this week-end. We want to make sure we have a replacement before our Spring WDW trip. Where have all you budget-minded folks found the best deals? My gas station attendant told me he thought Sears had better deals than Walmart! That was a shocker but we've added Sears to the list.
I'd love to hear your suggestions!

I found the best deal online. First i checked out prices at best buy etc, determine the camcorder that I wanted and then compared prices at dealtime http://www1.shopping.com/?drd=1

From there, I found that the least price for the camcorder and clicked through to Buydig.com. I got the same camera delivered for $ 150 less than the stores.

Wow! Buydig has the best price on the Camcorder that we've been looking at. Is that site for real?

Thanks for the comparison shop site too. Very informative.

check out techbargains.com for the deals currently at dell.com
they don't carry a lot of camcorders - but what they has is very inexpensive.

JoEllen I order from Buydig on a Thursday night and I had the camcorder by Wednesday of the next week. Brand New.. it was Perfect.. I am thrilled ... I did check out the reviews from the other people and was comforted to buy from them because of the BBB and othe endorsements.

Thank you so much! DH just ordered our Sony camcorder from the Buydig site so no running around price comparing this week-end. He even ordered the carry bag. We plan to play some golf instead!

I bought our Sony digital camcorder at a merchant I found through Pricescan.com. That is another comparison site. The camera we bought was $899 at Circuit City, Best Buy and 2 other stores I checked. Through PriceScan I found it for $550!! I ended up getting the camera, bag, extra battery, lens filter and pack of film for about $750 including tax and shipping.

People buying in person at the major chains have no idea how much money they are wasting.

DH ordered the Sony that was featured in last Nov Consumer Report magazine as the "best buy". Don't remember the model number. Our kids are grown so didn't need/want all the bells and whistles.

I know you already bought (congrats), but I bought my camcorder for my Disney trip on E-bay. I found a brand new never opened Samsung that is also a digital camera (retail $770) for $217.00. Wow!!!! And it works great!! can't wait to use it.....IN 10 DAYS!!!!! Suz:earseek:

We just bought a Sony TRV-33 at centraldigital.com for $550. We found that through shopping.com, pricegrabber.com, and pricewatch.com. It wasn't the cheapest vendor we found, but seemed to be the most reputable so we paid a little more for it. Considering it was $650 at Best Buy, we didn't mind paying a little more than other internet sites.
