Nope, there's still a Pleasure Island... for the moment, at least. A number of us PI fans are scared for the future, though.

Big changes are afoot, at least. The West End Stage is being torn down, the stage by the DJ booth is becoming a boat dock, all the shops on the side between Rock 'N' Roll Beach club and the Adventurer's Club are closed, behind a construction wall that runs the length of the street. And Jazz Club has been replaced by an Irish pub (that's been a while, though.)

Mannequins, 8Trax, Motion, RRBC, AC, BET, and Comedy Warehouse continue to operate as normal.

Does anyone know what is going on behind the construction wall?

anyone think any of the clubs will still be open in September...I had big plans for my birthday night!! Booooo.............. :sad2:

They just opened a brand new Irish Pub in Pleasure Island...I don't think it is going any place any time soon.

:drinking1 party: :rockband:

That's Raglan Road. Looks like a great place.

Do they serve Cider ?? If so, how much a glass (I need to know so I can start saving!!) :bounce:

They serve cider. and Guiness and anything else that moves you!

It is actually a very good place. I have been there twice and both times very happy w/ the food and service. There is entertainment as well.

I HOPE they dont get rid of AC!! that plce is SOOOO much fun.

seems like lately if it does not involve a character no one wants to know about it........(ok- it seems like that to me anyway! ;) )

sure i love disney - but can i please dine/hangout somewhere in disney that does not include a character anymore!

no flames please- just my opinion......

There is nothing wrong with that. We've 2 adults and no children, we like to go places that don't involve disney characters sometimes too.

Saw an article in the Orlando Sentinel. They are making it a more family/kid friendly area. If you weren't aware, they've done away with the admission. They want it to be another part of the whole Downtown Disney experience. They make a lot of money from people shopping and the changes are being made to enhance the shopping experience. Sounds like they may be adding more non-Disney shopping options. The article also mentioned that they'll be adding a water taxi service to get around. I'm guessing that many of the clubs will continue to be there but they will add more shopping/dining attractions as well.

I keep thinking if all the clubs stay they will probably stick with a cover charge that includes club hopping. If they close some of them, the remaining ones may have their own cover charge.

I like paying just one cover for all the clubs. Maybe they should just lower the cover if they close some clubs

Motion used to be a "Wildhorse Saloon" country bar. It was a very fun bar but I guess it must not have fit in.

That Irish pub sounds great- can't wait! I really PI was pretty "family friendly already, but whatever. We'll see what develops.

I was there in April and a waiter at Fulton's told us that PI is being made to be more like a Boardwalk.

So what are the cover charges like? How much?
And if you add it on to your package - what does that get you - a wristband that gets you "free" cover at all of the clubs?
