Sorry if this has been asked before, but I know I regularly have a craving for fish and chips and will be wanting it when I'm in the parks. Is it the same at every place? Or is there a preference? TIA!

I've only had Finnegan's and they're pretty good. I mean fish and chips are pretty much the same wherever you go, right? lol Though for some reason I recall the ones in Epcot tasting better than at UOR.

Oh yes, definitely I'd think the ones at Rose and Crown are better. But we're not going to Epcot this time. :(

I've never eaten at Rose & Crown, just the little shop on the corner.

I agree with mac that Finnegan's is the best of the 3.

I'll have to give Jake's a visit to try out their version. Funny I've never dined there in all my visits to RPR.

I want to add my vote for best Fish and Chips for Jake's. Really a good portion. Delicious tarter sauce. Really delicious. I think about it when I want Fish & chips

Thanks for your responses! I was actually surprised Finnegan's was rated so highly, though I actually haven't been to any of these 3 places. I've only ever gone to Mythos every time, but something new would be nice. :)

Never eaten in Jake's??? Oh you have to remedy that..........fabulous place! Second best onsite pizza after Sal's!

I would also go with Jake's for fish and chips........I'm not a fan of either Potter restaurant and won't eat again in Finnegans (although I am in the minority on that)

Can I go with option D of Bubba Gump in Citywalk. I prefer theirs to the ones in the park, but I've never tried Finnigans, so not sure how it compares.

I watched the DIS Universal blog about RPR and they basically said they didn't enjoy ANY of the RPR restaurants. Glad to hear people think they are good.

You have to realize that some of the ones that are doing those video blogs are not UO fans but Disney fans
They see things differently than some of us do

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but wanted to let you know that others do not have the same opinion
And I say that for any park

Some peeps that are die hard Disney goers compare UO to a park they only visits on occasions

People generally do the parks closer to their hearts and find no fault with them

And some do not understand how UO can be a total vacation and stay onsite for over two weeks like I or schumi does

I do not get bored with city walk, parks, or hotel activities

When I go to the darkside, it is a total relaxing vacation for me

I do not have to get up at 7 and do EE
I stay onsite and use my unlimited ep to avoid long line waits
I do not have to schedule or rush for anything

And I do not have to have a vacation to recover from my vacation when leaving UO
To me this is the perfect vacation
I come home relaxed and can handle the stress in my life once I have been recharged

On all my trips to Orlando, I could not pick just one park
I am at the motherland first for 6 nights and then transfer to the darkside resorts

Shorter visits outside of each October I still hit both resorts but shorter stays overall

My time at Disney I do not relax, constantly on the go
Rushing each day and trying to be on time for adr and fp times
I'm on a schedule there but not when I'm at UO

All I have to say the ones that do the video blogs do try to give their honest opinions of other parks
It is not necessary the same opinions of everyone

This is one area where we all have to try things knowing it might not be the same way for us

When it comes to asking a person what is their favorite color, you might not like their answer
If you told me yellow, I would go
Which would mean nothing to someone that loved that color

Same goes for food
It is something you might love and I would gag on it

Fish is less greasy at jakes at rpr
At finnegans it is a hit or miss but 5 times out of 6 it was great for me there

Last Oct. we skipped Finnagans and tried Lombards, I have to say their
Fish & Chips were very good. Not greasy at all and more fish than batter.

That's good to hear

Haven't been to Lombards in a few years
Time to try them again

Just ate at Finnegan's today and the fish and chips were DELICIOUS!!! Not greasy at all!!! Here's a pic so everyone can drool:-)image.jpg

Any info available on what type of fish is used at the various restaurants? I know Yorkshire at Epcot uses catfish, but haven't seen similar details for anywhere else, US or WDW.

Oh yes, definitely I'd think the ones at Rose and Crown are better. But we're not going to Epcot this time. :(
Ewwww. I don't like the fish & chips at Rose & Crown. Much too greasy. I tried them again last December & they are still very greasy. I had them at one of the HP restaurants. I think it was Leaky Cauldron. They were ok.
