First post here!

Our first trip to Disney!!!! Mom & Dad (Dad was never there) along with a 3 year old and a 4 month old. The infant will be a lap child for the flight (no car seat). We are bringing our own umbrella stroller (don't worry, it reclines) along and have heard that you can't bring a stroller into the restaurants unless the infant is sleeping. Just wondering what they have for an infant during sit down meals? Does anybody have any pics of Disney high chairs? Thanks in advance for this and for all the help I've already received just from reading.

I say bring the car seat and just check it on the plane so you don't have to buy a seat - that way you will have something to put the baby in durring meals.

That would only make sense if you had a travel system or Snap N Go type of thing - I can't imagine carrying a car seat in an umbrella stroller. Otoh, I don't remember putting my babies in umbrella strollers until they were more like 6 months and could sit pretty well.

Iirc, the high chairs were the standard wooden kind - I don't remember seeing any with real seats. But then, I wasn't looking for them, either.

At that age, I usually held my babies in my lap, or in a sling. It's not as easy to eat, of course, and you have to be careful not to drop hot things on them! But, then, I didn't take any long trips at those ages, so every once it a while, it was fine.

I can't imagine hauling a car seat with me for meal or paying for a plane seat.

The highchairs are the standard wooden hairchair. The back is solid wood with a mickey head cut out. If your child doesn't sit up yet the highchair is not an option in my opinion.

We saw infants in carriers, slings, and on laps during meals when we were there in Jan.

I've never had a problem bringing a stroller in when my children were too young to sit up in a highchair.

We brought our DS (he'll be 5 months this weekend) in his stroller everywhere we ate last week, which included Kona Cafe, Tony's, and Beaches n cream (they weren't that crazy about it there, but it was empty when we went....) I did see that the infant high chairs that they had at Tony's seemed like they would have worked though, they looked like a car seat on a stand, as opposed to the wooden ones they had most other places.

We brought our youngest DD in her stroller to all restaurants in August. THe one exception was Chef Mickeys because they had infant seat high chairs so she could get right up to the table with us! If she can't sit up yet don't feel bad bringing her in her stroller, our DD was 13 months and they gave us no problems at all:)

It's been a while since we needed an infant seat, but when we brought dd at 6 months, I don't recall being able to bring the stroller into a restaurant unless she was sleeping. They did have infant highchairs in the restaurants or she sat on our lap. The infant highchairs were like infant car seats on a wooden frame- the baby reclines in the seat.

Hi, I brought my 4 month old in her stroller in every restaurant we went (Le Cellier, Wolfgangs, Kona Cafe, Coral Reef..everywhere!) and had no problems. We took her again for her 1st bday and also had no problems bringing the stroller in with us. I cant remember what restautant it was but they had this really cool sling type high chair that was made for the infant carrier.

I used to wear my baby in a pouch (like a sling but has no metal rings) out to eat.

If you have a smaller stroller they will for the most part allow you into the restaurants if you have a little one and they DO NOT have infant highchair slngs. I have noticed many more restarants have them now. The only restaurant we couldn't bring the stroller into was Raglan Road and Le Cellier.

I also never had a problem bringing my stoller in to any of the restaurants..Sleeping or no. This last trip though, DH & I just took turns holding DD who was 4 months at the time. She was easy..If she was awake she was facinated by the people and wait staff, otherwise she was sleeping on our shoulders.

I do have to say though, I hope the umbrella stroller reclines...my DD had great neck control from the getgo and she still needed to be reclined at 4 months.
