When we go to WDW, DD2 will be 1.5 yrs old. Now, when DD1 was that age, she would have no issues staying in our bed. However, DD2 is a Great sleeper - in her crib. When shes in our bed, she thinks its playtime, jumps up and down, laughs, no matter what time it is. I was just going to bring her playpen, but not sure if she'll sleep in that. So we're staying at the Beach Club, going to rent a crib, but if all they rent is playpens, and when I asked on the Resort board, there was someone who didn't actually like the real crib.....not sure what to do now. Any suggestions?

Well the good thing is you don't have to pay for your the pack n play at the resorts, so don't bring along your own. They are free just for the asking. So if that doesn't work out then you're not out any money.

You'll probably be surprised at how well your DD will sleep in the playpen at age 1 1/2. My daughter did just fine until about 22 months in a playpen. Then she crawled out of it!!! ;) But at that age your DD should do fine. Also, you'll be so exhausted from the parks that your DD will probably end up falling asleep on the way home from the parks on the bus or in the car (if you are renting one). Therefore, you probably wont' even have to worry too much about it.

I would just try the playpen and you'll probably be ok.

Thanks for the input...we're actually driving down, which is why I planned on bringing ours in the first place, but thinking how many other things we have to bring, led us to this discussion. We'll be taking the bus, other than to Epcot/MGM where we'll walk from Beach Club, so maybe she will fall asleep and not care where she sleeps anyway! Thanks.

We rented a crib from Children's Furniture Rental on our recent trip and it was great! Your DD sounds like our DS - great sleeper in his crib, but mom and dad's bed is playtime! We used the resort PnP's the last couple of trips, but he's such an active sleeper that he doesn't sleep well in a PnP anymore (lesson learned on a business trip where we luckily stayed with my parents so we just ran to Wal Mart and bought a cheap crib and mattress, he was I think 15 mos. at the time). Perhaps you can do a trial night in her PnP at home?

Children's Furniture Rental can be reached at 407-522-0233 - they set up and take down the crib for you and we were really happy with the crib, mattress, and linens. People have also had great experiences with A Baby's Best Friend (www.abbf.com) but we opted for CFR because of the set-up and take down (ABBF leaves the crib at Bell Services and you set it up - no tools required, though). If you do a search on crib rentals you should find lots of threads about renting full-sized cribs.

Good Luck!

If you have concerns about your DD not being able to sleep in the pack and play, get her used to it first, if you can. Make sure she's really tired and very ready for a nap and let her nap in it. If she sleeps with a lovey, be sure to give it to her so that she associates sleeping with the pack and play.

My son outgrew the pack and plays pretty quick (he was 12 lbs 2 oz at birth and grew like a weed). I found that Aero Bed makes a toddler bed that weve been taking on trips ever since he outgrew the PNP. The bed inflates in a few seconds and is comfy. The middle is ressessed a bit so the sides are higher and he cant roll out easily. The first few times we used it we had issues of him not staying put, but if he was tired he would crash right away. When he got older and space was an issue (ie in a cruise ship cabin) we got one of those ready beds. Theyre sleeping bags which can be inflated (some now can work in 3 positions) and come in character themes. Ive seen them at Toys R Us and Target. During the day we just stood it against the wall so we had more room to move.
