Personally I think I have already looked everywhere, but hopefully there are some places that I didn't think to look yet. I am looking for a comforter set in just plain, SOLID colors and it's like I'm looking for a unicorn! I want either, burgundy or taupe or brown, and all I can find is pinks and purples and flowers and stripes. Bought a queen size set yesterday from Elder-Beerman and it didn't even cover the mattress completely! What's up with that? Wasn't a solid color, so wasn't exactly what I wanted anyway.

So if anyone has a favorite place that has something that might fit the bill...PLEASE pass along the site. Thanks in advance to anyone who has any ideas.

have you tried:

Cuddledown
the Compnay Store
Garnet Hill
Lands End?

those are my favs, esp when they have sales

BTW, I use a king sized comforter on a queen bed. I put a fitted sheet over the boxspring and then I don't need a dust ruffle

I haven't looked lately but try Lands End or LL bean. They usually have simple solid colors and sheets to match. Good Luck.

I like Pottery Barn quilts. I usually look at Pottery Barn and find one that I like and then I look it up on ebay. Alot of people seem to put them on ebay that find them at the outlet stores.

I got mine at Kohls

Have you thought about a duvet cover? Majority of these come in nice solid colors. Check anywhere from Macy's to Target.

I just bought my daughter a set at JcPenney and I also purchased ours there too. They have some nice stuff. You should also try Marshall's, you can usually find some nice sets there.

Marshall's is a great choice. Also Home Goods if you have one there. It's the Marshall's for just housewares.

I'll 2nd the duvet and duvet cover. I got our duvet from Ikea as well as the dover. They also sell solid colors and their prices are great.

Target is my favorite place to buy bedding (and everything else too), it's cheap, but all the bedding I've ever bought there has lasted longer than anywhere else. Maybe it's just luck.

Also I love domestications.com - check out the sale and clearance sections for some great deals.

Target's Dwell Studio line is fantastic. I bought one of my nicest duvet covers from Dwell there and it was only $49

I usually do TJMaxx or Marshall's or pretty much who ever have the highest thread count or quality for the best price but you may want to try Anna's Linens if you have one in your area. ALso, maybe Big Lots.:confused3

macys has great sales! i got solids for mine and i got all my euro shams - that were originally 50 bucks a pop - for 3 bucks each! and then my martha stewart pillows were 5 bucks - i got mattress covers that were 100 bucks for less than 25! i love macys for bedding!

Ours is from Bed Bath and Beyond- black on one side, taupe on the other. 5 years old now though.

I get mine from Overstock.com. Love the selection and we've never been disappointed with quality- but I do read the reviews and choose a high thread count for linens.---Kathy
