I have Picasa downloaded but I hate it. Whenever I upload pics it uploads pics that are already in a folder. It mixes up new pics with older pics.

SOO I'm looking for something other than Picasa that's user friendly.

ALSO I need to find a place to store my pics, I have 1000s on a laptop I don't use anymore, I need to get them off of there & stored somewhere so I can find them easily, and free.

I have Photoshop Elements 12 right now. I also have several external hard drives that my photos are stored on. I do have a photo bucket account but i only use that for posting pics online. Nothing for general storage. I have over 500GB's in pictures. PB I think is only 10GB free. One of these days I will go thru them and delete quite a few.

Amazon Prime includes Prime Photos. Prime Photos provides unlimited photo storage in Amazon Cloud Drive with an additional 5GB of free storage space for active Prime members in the U.S. So far, I have only uploaded JPGs, so I'm not sure if it will recognize a RAW file as a photo or not.

I have used SmugMug for several years and really like it but SmugMug does not recognize raw photos; a problem I have encountered too. Most of my best photos are stored on SmugMug but I also store all my photos and important documents on separate drives with a full back-up set kept at my Mom's house.

I find that I now go back to the raw version of my travel photos more often now as my Lightroom and PSE skills improve.

Here's a link to what Amazon Prime says about raw photo storage.

Here's a link to a fairly recent article about cloud storage of photos.

+1 for SmugMug - this is where I store my final version (all adjustments from LR and PS). I choose it because of having more control over my photos in terms of search engines and privacy. There is a cost to SmugMug ($60 USD ish a year I think), but for me it works.

All Raw files are saved on computer for modifications, then moved to hard drive for external storage once modified and then those raw files are backed up onto another external drive. So I have two copies of the RAW files and the LR files in two different places. Once I have them stored in these two places, I re-format my memory cards.

I still have not gone to the point of storing the extra backup copy in another location, so by that token I am not safe...but a risk i am willing to take.
