For your Sunday evening cruise? A bit afraid of flying down the same day. Any suggestions for an overnight stay?

We're staying at the Radisson Resort at the Port.

I think if you ask around, you will find that overwhelming people will suggest to arrive the day before. God forbid anything happen to "miss the boat". We have stayed at Best Western, and Comfort Inn & Suites in Cocoa beach, both cheap, clean, beachfront stays.

As the previous poster suggested Radisson is a very very popular pre-cruise hotel stay.

Good Luck in your choice!! :sunny:

Although dcltribute.com seems to be VERY popular on this message board, the website doesn't not seem to be up to date, imho. I would like to have some more recent stays reviewed as it seems that some hotels have been updated since last years hurricanes.

We stayed at the Sheraton just off Orlando airport. There about 10 reasonably prices hotels just off the airport property, with free shuttles to and from the airport. They'll pick you up at the airport, and the next day drop you right off at the Disney buses.

We are staying at the Days Inn near the Port....based solely on price. For one night, I am hoping that it is not that bad. But I will let you all know once I get back!!!!

Just wondering how do you generally get from MCO to the port hotels? We are flying in the night before.

We purchased the transfers with our cruise. I called to let DCL know when our flight would be arriving, the night before, and they will pick us up and take us to the port hotels.

We're leaving on the Sat Magic and are flying in on a redeye arriving EARLY Friday morning. We pricelined a hotel in the airport area and then are renting a car (minivan) for $50 to drive to the port.

There are 3 basic options. 1) Rent a car for the day (24 hour period) - pretty inexpensive. 2) Use DCL transportation on the day of the cruise from MCO or WDW to the ship. 3) Hire a towncar or limo service. They will usually take you to a store so you can stock up on "stuff" that you didn't want to drag down with you on the plane.

We stay at the Radisson.

You can also do a search at travelocity.com...you don't have to book, but there are plenty of hotel reviews in the area listed with each hotel...very helpful.

We have stayed at the Radisson at the Port (expensive but convenient) once but have used Priceline for airport hotels on our recent trips with good success. I like to use the airport hotels if we are arriving late afternoon/early evening but the port hotels are nice if you arrive early in the day the day before - in my opinion anyway. Since we always rent a car we just drop that off in Cocoa Beach and DH takes the shuttle to the terminal. On our upcoming Thanksgiving cruise we are staying at Disney since we will be in before noon (but still have a rental vehicle to get us to the port).

I use Dave's website a lot - it gives me an idea of what hotels are available and then I can take it from there if I am looking for more information. His driving directions are AWESOME - and that comes from my DH so it is very high praise.

Which is preferable--to stay at the port the night before or at the airport? Limo/towncar service is kind of expensive for just two of us so we were going to use DCL transfers. But, we do want to make sure we get to the port early enough to get on the boat to make Palo reservations.

If you want current reviews, go to www.tripadvisor.com. Find Cape HOtels or Cocoa Beach HOtels. They have them listed in order of ratings with reviews underneath. You can sign up for a weekly newsltr on the hotel of your choice so that you'll get reviews as they get posted. Its pretty cool. Also, as for transportation from mco to the port, you might check out the transportation forum. Lots of talk over there about cheap 1 day rental car deals with codes. This also allows you the freedom to stop at a store for any last minute items you want. Good Luck!

We're probably going to stay at the Raddison in October this year, and the Holiday Inn at downtown disney in 2006. Our 9 other friends will be at the Boardwalk so we'll probably meet up for dinner, etc, and go over our docs the night before.
