Where do you scan your fastpass?

Wondering where do you scan your fastpass? It is always behind the lineup, or are some lines backed up further than the scanners? Just wondering if you are always able to scan as soon as you arrive at each attraction/ride. Thanks!

There are often 2 points where you scan. At the entrance, and father along to avoid people crossing over into the FP line after the entrance. There are many rides where the line for the first scan backs up - 7 dwarves, big thunder, splash, and space mtn at MK, FOP sometimes and EE at AK, FEA at Epcot, are some that come to mind, there may be others.

You scan in right at the ride entrance. Almost all rides have covered the 2nd scan point. The CM said that too many guests put their tickets away and it caused too big a delay at the 2nd scan so they got rid of it. Even RnR was covered last week. FoP used theirs. I think ToT. Maybe one other.

When we went in March we were scanned twice for BTMR and that was the only one I think we had two scans for. It kind of surprised me that it was the only one to have a second scan point.

You scan at the main entrance but sometimes there can be a line to scan at that first initial post. One ride that usually always has a line to scan into the FP is the Safari.

It's not that the FP line is really long it's just that with so many FP's the entrance gets backed up. Then you have people in line that it's not time for their FP yet so it holds it up.

MIddle of April we were scanned twice at maybe 25% of rides? Kali, Spaceship Earth, 7DMT are the three that come to mind but I knew there were quite a few others. The only significant "line to scan" we encountered (and both times we rode it) was Spaceship Earth. it also had the longest FP line once you scanned to wait for the ride.

I found most second stations were covered up last spring. In fact, when using rider swap passes, we found a lot of first stations would wave us through, and the second station never collected them. It was anarchy!

Occasionally we have encountered a short line at the FP entrance, such as FEA I think there may have been 20 or so people ahead of us, but the line generally moves quickly unless there are people trying to sneak in prior to their FP time. Usually you scan at the entrance and then their might be another scan further in the line (to catch those trying to jump in the FP line). I think the bigger rides such as FOP had it during our last trip.

7DMT has covered the second touch point. That is actually the one where I finally asked the CM why. That's when they said it was due to so many guests who put their tickets away. As a MB user I tend to forget not everyone else is

I was glad that RnR finally did too. Their touch points are so awkward

We just returned this past week and many FP lines were extended outside the FP entrance. Granted, they moved very fast, but it was not an immediate scan!!

Also, nearly all the rides we rode had a second scan right before the ride. Seems there have been people that have tried to 'slip' in line with others when it is very busy,(or jump over into the FP line from SB line - on some rides they are close together) so the second scan definitely gets them!! Actually, we saw two boys do it (or try)!

Really? We were there from 4/20 to 27 and saw just the opposite. Only ride with 2 scan points was FoP. Every other ride had the 2nd one covered. Only ride we skipped the entire week was Kali.
Wonder why our days were so different yet there at the same time?

We were there 4/11/- 4/19. The 3 that come to my mind right off were FEA, TSM,7DMT, - used 2nd scan on all of these.

Ah, TSMM is no longer doing FP during our trip so not sure what it will be.
FEA actually went down after we scanned in the first touch point and before the 2nd one so we didn't get to ride.
7DMT was covered at 2nd one and that's the CM I asked about as to why. RnR too. Those were newly covered since our trip in March.
I'm sure it is easy for them to take the covers on/off as needed.

Yes! They're both oriented on the left, one of which is by that accessible entrance. It always blows peoples minds that there are two!

Star Tours did re-enable their 2nd touch point like a week ago. It used to be covered, now I noticed they were scanning again in the security room in the queue. Tower has a 2nd touchpoint as well. I think attractions which have FP and standby right next to each other for a while tend to do this, since I think someone mentioned BTMRR having it too. Although RnRC's second is covered, and their FP is next to single riders, so I'm not sure.
